Romance in an umbrella

Hello lovely people,

I've been in Bath studying for a couple of days and Dr. Hubby has been working away for a few days so we are now re-united and going to enjoy a day together...I think it's coffee date time!

I love to make multi-layered cards as I enjoy combining lots of pretty papers and it works well with the slightly vintage style that I like.

Sometimes I find it hard to achieve a soft look when colouring with Copics but I was delighted with how this turned out :-)
The umbrella was tricky because BG70 is so much lighter than BG72 that it is really hard to blend it nicely but I used a bit of 'tip to tip' technique and it worked a treat.
If you haven't come across this technique before, I coloured the image as I usually would but then touched the tip of BG70 on to the nib of BG72 to pick up a bit of the darker colour and applied this to the image to smooth out the shading between these 2 colours on my image.

I finished off by adding a couple of random lacy edges, some flower clusters and a little metal charm...ah, so romantic :-)

A lovely duo

There are lots of possibilities for this theme and I have chosen a stamp with a cute duo of mice and also my favourite duo of colours - pink and green.

These little cuties would work for lots of romantic occasions; this card is for a couple renewing their wedding vows.

I think this was the last of my pink roses so I guess I'll have to do some shopping - lol!
Oh, and I'm going to need some more of those heart charms because they are just so gorgeous...

Celebrate

Hello lovely people,

Today is my last day of work before the lovely long Easter weekend and I can't wait!
Dr. Hubby and I have a list of jobs to do around the house and garden, not least replacing the 3 very wind-damaged fence panels at the bottom of the garden, but with 4 days off I'm sure there will be plenty of time for crafting as well :-)

I think I shall be clock watching all day today as I look forward to finishing work and heading up to my parents' house...
and then off to the Hobbycrafts show at the NEC tomorrow with my Mum!

Using lots of layers on my card wasn't too tough for me but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea...

...and talking of tea, I just had to give this stamp another outing, this time for a Mothers' Day card for my Mother-in-Law.

I went with pink again, but it is quite a different shade to the last one!

I went with a really simple pull-out tag with a sentiment circle and ribbon loop.
