Baby rattle card and tags

Hello lovely people,

I have a Dies to Die For DT card for you today and am mixing up a bit of old and new for this one.

The little bear and sentiment are from a brand new MFT stamp set and I thought they would go perfectly with the baby rattle die from a while ago...was I right?!

I have also used the fab new MFT polka dot background stamp, which I heat embossed in white, then blended Distress Oxides over the top.

If you are a fan of itsy bitsy polka dots then this background stamp is a must have!

I admit I was a little bit addicted to the cuteness of the baby rattle die so I made a couple of quick tags as well!

So, the rattles are sort-of upside down but I envisaged them as tags so in my head it made sense to put the handle loop at the top.

Floating in space

Hello lovely people,

I have a Dies to Die For DT card for you today and since it is International Space Day today I thought I'd link in with that...yes, I'm aware it's also Star Wars Day...a happy coincidence this year!

I'm really enjoying creating backgrounds for my characters with Distress Oxides and I especially love the effect of adding water to them. 
I wanted to create a 'spacey' feeling for this one (obviously!) so first I used a spray bottle from overhead to give a misting of fine dots and then added in some bigger splotches with the end of a paintbrush dipped in water.

I love how cute his little silver tubing looks but please don't ask me why it goes into the eyelet on the sentiment...it was one of those 'I just thought it looked cool' moments!  I guess not everything has to make sense in crafting...it's just art!

Is it going to be sunny or rainy today?  It's anyone's guess as it seems to be a very mixed bag this week!

It was sunny when I created my Dies to Die For DT card this week and I think maybe you can tell that it influenced my make a little?!

I was sooooo very restrained with the last Stamping Bella release but I definitely had to have at least one of the super cute gnomes :-)

I love this sunny colour combo; to think that yellow was once a rarely used colour for me and now I use it quite a bit!

Merry Friday everyone and of course, I have a Dies to Die For DT card to share.

A few weeks ago I really enjoyed playing with the volcano dies from MFT...so much so, that I went back for another play...

Ok, so you've probably spotted the pull tab...wanna see what happens?!

Boom!  It's really quite a simple card but the fab slider action and punny sentiment make this so much fun :-)

Even better, it's really easy to put together the slider element...it's at this point I realise a tutorial might have been good!  Maybe for next time, because there WILL be a next time as this slider could be used on all sorts of cards.

Sweet Pea Birthday Wishes

Hello lovely people,

It's that time of the week again where I aim to inspire (tempt?) you all with my Dies to Die For DT card.

I have not had much time to spend in the garden lately (too much crafting - lol!) but one of my favourite flowers is the sweet pea, so I very much enjoyed colouring this pretty little lady from Stamping Bella.

I was aiming for the flowers to look like a picotee variety sweet pea as I love the beautiful delicate colouring on the edges and I think it turned out quite well!

For me, these gorgeously detailed images really work well on a CAS design and it gave me an excuse to use one of my fave sentiment dies again!

Little mermaids scene

Hello lovely people,

I have a Dies to Die For DT card to share with you and this is one that started with a very simple idea and got gradually more and more complicated!

My thought process for this card went along these lines...Oooh let's use some adorable mermaids...well, they'll need some waves to play around in...now this would look cute as a scene in a frame...ok now I'm going to have to add an inked beach/sky backdrop...hmmm, that bottom right corner looks a little bare so I'd better pop in some seaweed and a starfish...and finally...ta da!

I used foam pads between the layers so the scene ended up pretty dimensional, and I really didn't want to add much more so I just mounted it on spotty paper and added a couple of cute embellishments.
