Criss cross Tilda

Hello lovely people,

It's time for a new challenge at Top Tip Tuesday and our theme this time is...

2 OR MORE RIBBON/TWINE

We are sponsored by 2CuteInk who are offering the winner 2 images of their choice.

I had a sudden desire to do another criss cross card and thought I'd break into my new Maja Design papers too... oooh, these are *really* gorgeous!

As you can see I have been practicing my skin and hair colouring again with this cute Tilda.

I made a large tag to slide into the pocket of the criss cross design; this section of the DP with the sentiment across it was just perfect for it!

Here you can see the tag completely removed revealing the fancy label shape on the tag and even more pretty DP inside the card!
Card recipe;
Image: Tilda catching stars - Magnolia
DP: Coffee in the Arbour - Maja Design (available from Live and Love Crafts)
Dies: leaf and swirl and Tilda lace - both Magnolia
Tag: Sentiment tags - LOTV
Twine: The Ribbon Girl

Shabby elegance

Hello lovely people,

Thank you to everyone who is here with me on my new blog and I really appreciate you taking the time to switch over.

I have had a few days off work and have been enjoying the gorgeous sunshine, the best bit was the mini Magnum I had earlier this morning in the garden - yum!
I have still found time to do some crafting especially as I feel like I'm on a bit of a roll right now!

Today I have a rare non-DT card just so I can enter a few challenges and because I really wanted to use my new collection of Pion papers!  They are so beautiful and lent themselves perfectly to a shabby chic card with a really soft colour palette.

All the DP panels have been distressed, inked and stitched plus I added a little swirl stamp detail to two corners of the main panel.

Some of you will already know that I am taking the class on skin and hair colouring at Kit and Clowder so I chose this image as a good one to practice on.  Plus she is just such a fab image and I haven't used her for a while... not surprising given how many stamps I have - lol!

For anyone who is interested to see the difference the colouring classes are making, I thought I would share my previous version of this image, coloured in May 2013.  The shading on the clothing is not particularly better in the new version but I feel there is much more depth, contrast and texture in the skin/hair.  And she has a nose in the latest version!

I had fun layering up the elements across the front of the card, gathering the lace slightly to add dimension and finishing with the roses and a couple of pearls sprinkled into the mix.

Copic colours;
Skin: E000/00/21/11/04 & R20
Eyes: B0000 & B91/93
Lips: R20/22
Hair: E50/53/35
Shirt: BG70/72/93
Top: T0/2
Trousers: E81/42/55
Hat: T0/1/2/4
Flowers: YR30/Y21/35
Grass: YG61/G21/YG63/67

Card recipe;
Image: Country Mama - Saturated Canary (now retired so unavailable)
DP: Shoreline Treasures - Pion (available from Live and Love Crafts)
Sentiment: Mini clear sentiment set - Kaisercraft
Corner swirl stamps: Grunge corners - LOTV

Thanks for popping in and I hope you have all had a lovely weekend :-)

 So we want to see all those beautiful floral creations...in PINK of course!

Apologies for the wonkiest photo ever, it was just one of those days!  I have crammed in the flowers though, on the image, the DP and some lovely 3D flowers too :-)
I have had some hessian ribbon for a little while now and decided it was time to use it, and I do love it teamed with the seam binding and twine - both rustic and pretty.

I have just started the skin and hair colouring class at Kit and Clowder and whilst I have a long way to go I feel I have made some improvements already...like the hair on this little lady...what do you reckon?
This is just one of the many gorgeous new fairy stamps at LOTV; I could so have bought them all but had to resist!

Image: Petal - LOTV

Time for cake

Hello lovely people,

It's time for a new challenge at Top Tip Tuesday and our theme this time is...

SHAPED CARDS

We are sponsored by Shape EZ who are offering our prize winner 2 Shape EZ templates of your choice.

I have used one of the templates from Shape EZ, which come as both jpg/png files for cutting out by hand and svg files for electronic die cutting machines.  I had to go for the cutting by hand option and yes, it was a little fiddly but worth it for such a lovely shaped design.

Just as I was about to start making this card I was asked for a special 40th birthday card and thought this fab cupcake was perfect for it, hence the numbers!

I loved going through all my pretty embellishments to add detail and particularly love how the ribbon/twine/flower/tag combo works :-)

Oh, and after making this card I remembered that I have a lovely cupcake shape on one of my Cricut cartridges... I might do it that way next time!

Card recipe;
DP: freebie with a magazine
Lace: from Live and Love Crafts but no longer available
Seam binding / twine: The Ribbon Girl
Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts
Numbers: cut on my Cricut
Tag: set 24, sentiment tags - LOTV
Pearls: from stash

I hope you will pop over to Top Tip Tuesday and check out the fabulous creations and of course, the top tips from the rest of the team.

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Cheeky monkey

Woohoo, it's new release time at All Dressed Up and we have a fabulous selection of images for you.  Just take a look...

3 Little Summer Girls

Best Teacher Ever

Cheeky Monkey

Prom Princess

I've got a bit of a stationary theme going on with my card; I started with the paperclip... and then the brad seemed like the perfect way to add the tags... and then I wanted to attach the twine without wrapping it round the panel so out came the stapler!

I chose to use Cheeky Monkey to continue with my challenge to myself to make more masculine cards... and because he is super cute!

Card recipe;
Image: Cheeky Monkey - All Dressed Up
DP: By the sea - Maja Design
Tags: set 24 - Sentiment tags - LOTV

Scrap n' Art with All Dressed Up

Hello lovely people,

Thank you for stopping by and I have a very special project to share today as one of my cards has been published in the latest issue of the Scrap n' Art online magazine.

Scrap n' Art is an electronic magazine packed with articles, tutorials and inspiration all the paper crafter and has a reader base of over 20,000.

Wendy Burns and three brand new, exclusive All Dressed Up images are being featured in the current issue plus several of the design team have submitted projects.

The three exclusive digis are:
Love My Teddy

Princess for a Day

Too Good to Eat

These three digital images are currently available only by subscribing to Scrap n' Art.  Your subscription entitles you to a monthly magazine for $24/year or you can try it for $5 for one month and you can access tutorials, inspiration, editorials and downloads.

For my card, I used another cute image currently available in the All Dressed Up Etsy store called Little Flower Girl.  I went for a taste of summer with this design, choosing bright colours and florals.

I just LOVE this little lady's gorgeous huge sun hat although it was a little bit of a challenge to colour!  I cut out an extra flower for her hat and popped it up on a 3D pad, then added liquid pearls to the middle of the flowers in the basket.

I've used my fave twine and flowers combo to embellish; I'm still loving the 3D flowers right now!

One more shot from the side so you can see the stepper design I used;

Card recipe;
DP: Park Bench - Echo Park
Dies: leaf and swirl - Magnolia Doohickey, butterfly set - Impression Obsession
Edge punch: Scallop dot - Martha Stewart
Flowers: all from Wild Orchid Crafts

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/50/000/51/21 & R30
Hair: E41/Y21/E42/E43
Dress / hair bows: BG10/11/13
Bag / ground: W0/2/3/4
flowers / hat / bow on bag: Y15/19/YR14
Leaves: G46
Bird: E42/43

I am back from my holiday now and feeling very refreshed but that will probably only last until I get into work on Monday morning and see my inbox!

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Hugs,
