Sparkly snowflake

Hello lovely people,

It's Creative Inspirations challenge time and this week we have the theme...

SPARKLE

We are sponsored by Stamp and Create with a $20 voucher

As soon as I saw this amazing snowflake die I just *had* to have it because I could just see all the lovely CAS designs I could make with it.
Sadly I only managed to cut just this one snowflake out before my poor old Cuttlebug refused to cut any more all the way through :-(
I think I may need a new die cutting machine ;-)
Any recommendations or 'don't buys'?

I brushed the snowflake all over with a clear Wink of Stella pen so it has a lovely subtle shimmer...you can just see a hint of it in the photo....hmm, maybe!

Card recipe;
Snowflake: Large snowflake - Impression Obsession
Sentiment: Pink Petticoat (discontinued)
Gems: from stash

The DT have made some wonderful samples to inspire you so pop over to Creative Inspirations to take a look :-)

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

  1. Love the elegance to this fabulous CAS design Kat.
Wish I wasn't so easily tempted though - yet another die to add to the never-ending shopping list lol!!!
I have a Big Shot and a Cut n Boss - love them both - tend to use the Big Shot when cutting small dies and the Cut n Boss for larger or more than 1 die at a time.
Had a Grand Calibur but wouldn't have another one- enough said!!!
    Have a fab day.

  2. Hi Kat wow I love that die it's so elegant and as you say nothing else needed on the card. I love the gems. I have an e bosser and it works well but if you are not bothered about turning a handle the new Todo machine is great and does so much more than just a die cutting machine. Worth taking a look. Hugs Jennifer xx

  8. Gorgeous card hun, the snowflake is really pretty! I have the XCut Xpress Die Cutting Machine, it's A4 which is great for larger dies or if like me you stamp a few images onto a4 card ready to die cut then use xxx

  9. Awesome hun, and I can see why you needed that snowflake! Is it your Bug, or do you just need new plates? I find that makes all the difference with fiddly dies if my plates are nice and flat. I still have my Bug, for the small stuff, and a Grand Calibur for the big things. Despite what people have said about the Calibur, I love mine and wouldn't swap it, unless it was for one without a canary in the handle! Hugs xx

  10. A gorgeous cas card Kat. Love the snowflake.
I have a bug and a calibur...love my bug! I have bought new plates and found that the cutting was much sharper - worth a try maybe?

  12. Kat, this card is so stylish and elegant - I love it. Such a simple (in a good way) design! You have created a truly beautiful CAS card and i love the little blue gems. Just wonderful, and stylish - just like you!

I have a big shot, really like it. I have had in the past and abandoned as a bad job, a vagabond and a grand caliber, gone back to my old trusty big shot every time. I only make small cards so I don't need a large cutting area. Hope that helps...

  15. Hi Kat..... your fabulous White on White card is truly stunning...... and not a bit of colouring in sight! WOW to that fabulous snowflake die.... think that may have to be added to my ever growing shopping list too! As to your poor Cuttlebug... are you having a funeral? I think I'd have to if mine gave way.. Like others have said, have you tried a shim (just a piece of card) between the base plate and the next plate up (whichever way you use it - cutting plate or the other one)... I tend to use mine the wrong way - whichever that is - as I find it easier... but I put the shim over my base plate.

Or maybe you just need to buy a sparkly PINK one at the NEC show tomorrow! LOL!

    Big hugs

  16. Fabulous card Kat, I LOVE that die. I've got a BigShot and love it. It's robust and pink!!! LOL. I agree with the others though, try a piece of card under or on top of your plate as a shim. It's worked for me when a die has been a bit light on the pressure.

  17. fabulously elegant Kat - I love this design - as for die cutting my 2nd Grand Calibur just bit the dust - I wont be having another, I only used it for A4 size dies/embossing so I'll have to thing about another big machine - my workhorse is a Big Shot express - had it for 6 or 7 years and it's still going strong and so fast too - I've never heard anyone ever complain about the big shot! hugs judithx

  19. This is a super elegant die Kat, love the intricate shape it gives. Your card looks fabulous with the added stitching and gems.
I have a Grand Calibur and have never had any problems with it but I know that others have, it does have a canary in the handle just like Squirrel's though. :)
