Bike ride with bunny

Hello lovely people,

Today I have a card using a very select few goodies from The Ribbon Girl.

I totally intended to add some clusters of flowers but once I had the letters in place, it just looked a little busy, and I was more than a little bit happy not to cover those GORGEOUS papers!

As you can see, this was a personalised card, which was a commission for a work colleague.  I was delighted when she picked out this image for the card because this pair are utterly charming and I knew they would be so fun to colour :-)

As I said, I didn't add much in the way of embellishment but the ribbon is really pretty with a lovely texture and matches the papers perfectly.

I can highly recommend the self-adhesive pearls as well; they are fab!

Little mouse with big bouquet

Hello lovely people,

I hope you are all having a good weekend whatever you are up to :-)

I really enjoyed my day off with Dr. Hubby on Friday; we had our coffee date and shared a piece of gorgeous banana cake then finished up by watching a film in the evening :-)

Yesterday was a day of crafting but was one of those where I struggled to get the ideas out of my head and into reality so I didn't achieve as much as I intended...I shall try harder today - lol!

Today is also the start of a new 'Use any image' challenge over on The Ribbon Girl blog, so you can enter with any type of project as long as you include an image.
There are loads of fab prizes up for grabs too :-)

This is another of the recent releases from Lili of the Valley and oh gosh, it's just so adorable!  It's a lovely image to colour and I know pink will always be my first love, but aqua comes a close second I think.

I had fun adding little dots of green around the flowers then added some pearl drops just for good measure!

I can't recommend these papers highly enough because they are such soft, pretty colours and designs.  Topped off with all those beautiful flowers, I have to say I am really this loving this finished card :-)

Thank you!

Hello lovely people,

Are any of you making New Years Resolutions?!

I usually don't because I know I won't keep them, especially if they are anything along the lines of 'be more organised'!

So, I think this year I will just try to do more of what makes me happy, and try not to overthink things or worry about things so much...but that's absolutely *not* a resolution ;-)

Anything pink certainly makes me happy so I'm off to a good start here...

It's time for our first challenge of 2017 at In The Pink so we've made it really easy for you with the theme...

ANYTHING GOES!
Don't forget we want to see more pink than any other colour!

Our fabulous sponsor this time is All Dressed Up with a prize of 2 digis of the winner's choice.

There was a lovely sentiment set free with Cardmaking and Papercraft this month, which I couldn't wait to use, and thought I'd challenge myself to make one of them the focal point of my card.

I have used some utterly gorgeous new papers too :-)

I find that free stamps don't always stamp brilliantly, but I primed these by rubbing a rubber over them first and found that stamping them with Versafine gave a better result than Memento.

In the end I used a grey ink to match better with the soft colours of the card.

I 'acquired' this pretty lattice effect die from a wonderful friend and thought it made a pretty backdrop for my sentiment.

If you haven't already done so then do pop over to In The Pink and check out the gorgeous creations from the rest of the Pink Ladies.

Shabby chic with The Ribbon Girl

Hello lovely people,

This is a great weekend!

Reason #1 - I had a fab time with friends at a small beer festival yesterday; I do love to sample some real ales :-)

Reason #2 - I am soooooo very excited to announce that I am guesting on the DT this month at The Ribbon Girl!!

I get a guest badge and everything :-)

I'll have a few projects to show you over the next couple of weeks and first up is my card for the new 'Any Image' challenge.

The Ribbon Girl now stock some utterly gorgeous DPs alongside the amazing selection of ribbon, lace and embellishments.  I have used some Lemoncraft papers, which are really pretty and they inspired the shabby chic style of my card.

I thought a spot of Inktense colouring was called for with to tie in with the lovely soft, vintage feel of the papers.

Thank you to a very special crafting buddy who gave me this stamp; it's one I had my eye on for a while and I totally adore it :-)

I've used a few goodies from The Ribbon Girl on here (listed below), all chosen to work with the shabby chic style.

The little stars were plain wooden ones before I coated them with white acrylic paint, crackle glaze and inked the edges.  It's not often I alter bits and bobs like this but I was rather chuffed with how these turned out :-)
