Flowering bike

Hello lovely people,

I made this card back in August for my Mum's birthday and somehow it has slipped through the net for blogging so I thought I's share it today.

This card has a very Summery vibe to it; I can't believe it's now November and Autumn...and it will soon be Christmas - eek!

The stamp is quite a large one so I actually made this a 7" card, which I almost never do but it was definitely the right choice in this case.

I really enjoyed colouring this beautiful image, partly because it's just really pretty and partly because I used my favourite colours :-)

I added pearl details to both the image and the border.  I always forget about my border punches but I should use them more...this one is so lovely.

Bubble blooms for Mum

 Hello lovely people,

I am very excited today as my beautiful new wooden box set of Inktense watercolour pencils has arrived!
It's not even my birthday!
I have been toying with the idea of getting them for ages and finally just decided to go for it :-)

Now I just have to learn how to use them, so while I am having a play, I have another Mothers' Day card to show you.
I tried out my new bubble bloom stamp and made a pretty pastel CAS design, with homemade candy dots.

This design was slightly more complicated than it looks because I inked the edges of the dots before I shaped them and I paper pieced the leaves, but those little details really make the difference in my eyes.

Sparkle bubble tree

Hello lovely people,

It's time for a new challenge at As You Like It and our theme this time is...

YOUR FAVOURITE SEASON
...and don't forget to tell us why it's your favourite!

Our sponsor this time is Sweet and Sassy Stamps

My favourite season for card making is winter because I love all the festive images, beautiful snowflakes and of course, adding lots of sparkle to my creations.
I only usually start making my Christmas cards in October/November but I LOVE doing them and always end up with way more Christmas supplies than I need!
This fabulous stamp I got at the NEC Hobbycrafts show is a case in point because I really didn't need any more Christmas stash but I fell in love with it and *had* to have it!
I think this image could be used all year round for other occasions too so it was totally worth getting it ;-)

I made the card candy dots myself using a new die and teamed them with glittered Copic coloured dots, pearls and Nuvo crystal drops; I really love this mix of different textures :-)
