Alpaca fun!

Hello lovely people,

It's Friday again and I am popping in with my Dies to Die For DT creation.

I made the 'mistake' of taking a peek at the new Sunny Studio release...and of course a few items just fell in my basket - ooooops!

So this is one of the gorgeous tag die sets; I had to get both because they have loads of different elements so you can build tons of designs with just the cutest details.

And I fell in love with the alpaca set...although I'm pretty sure these could double as llamas too!

...Llampaca anyone?!

I've coloured this cutie with Copics using a dotting technique to make him look furry and of course, a little sparkle was a must for the hat!

If I've tempted you with any of the lovely supplies I've used then you can go straight to the individual products via the links below or just pop over to Dies to Die For and have a little browse around!

Thanks for popping in and I hope you have a lovely day!

Lovely things I've used from Dies to Die For;
Alpaca holiday stamps - Sunny Studio (I didn't use them here but there are matching dies available)
Build-a-tag #1 - Sunny Studio
Classic gingham 6x6 paper pad - Sunny Studio

Other ingredients;
twine - from stash

Copic colours;

Alpaca: E40, E41, E42, E43
Inside ears / hooves: E43, E44
Hat: B00, BG01, BG53

Fairy tags

Hello lovely people,

It's time for a new challenge at In The Pink and our theme this time is...

STARRY, STARRY...PINK!

So just pop some stars on your project and of course, make sure you use more pink than any other colour :-)

We are sponsored this time by Live and Love Crafts with a £10 voucher.

I decided to make some tags for a change and although I do have some tag dies, I wanted a slightly wider tag shape for this design so I cut them by hand.

The stars are all 2 die cuts layered together for a little extra dimension and to make sure the colour co-ordinated perfectly I cut them from white card and coloured them with my Copics.

The sentiment strips have 2 foam pads in the middle to pop them up a teeny bit.

The adorable fairies are from a clear stamp set from Lili of the Valley; I have used just 3 of the fairies but there are loads more in the set plus a cupcake and tiny stars.

Each fairy has sparkly wings and a sparkly star wand; I'm loving my Glamour Dust at the moment!

Here's tag #1...

And #2...

And of course, #3...

Card recipe;
Dies: circle - MFT Die-namics circle STAX, scalloped circle - Spellbinders Nestabilities, Cosmic star set - Memory Box
Sentiment: A little sentimental - Clearly Besotted

Hair: E21/25/29

A love story

Hello lovely people,

Well this is exciting...I have my first card to share as part of the LOTV Design Collective and it's a little romantic number...

Romantic card featuring LOTV love balloon stamp

I had an urge to do some monochrome colouring with this fab image and I'm really happy with how it turned out.  Ok, not properly monochrome since I couldn't resist a little splash of red to match the papers!

I made a little tag to tuck in behind the image :-)

Now you see those yummy papers?  They are actually a Christmas collection!
I thought they were fab for a bold romantic look though and I just avoided the ones with snowflakes on!

Hello lovely people,

I think I shall be clock watching all day today as I look forward to finishing work and heading up to my parents' house...

For now I have a card to show you for our new challenge at In The Pink where we have the theme of...

LOTS OF LAYERS

We are delighted to be sponsored again by The Ribbon Girl with a £10 voucher prize
Using lots of layers on my card wasn't too tough for me but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea...

...and talking of tea, I just had to give this stamp another outing, this time for a Mothers' Day card for my Mother-in-Law.

Pink floral criss cross card featuring cute mouse in teapot

I went with pink again, but it is quite a different shade to the last one!

I went with a really simple pull-out tag with a sentiment circle and ribbon loop.

Jolly holly

Hello lovely people,

Don't fall over in shock that I am posting; I'm here, I'm ok and I have a card to share!  But then of course, it's time for a new challenge at Top Tip Tuesday and our theme is...

BUTTONS AND/OR BOWS

I had this idea in my head for a little CAS card and what do you know, it actually turned out like I pictured!
I do love Kraft, white and red for Christmas :-)

And since it was so simple, I made a few more, each with a different sentiment on the tag.  I made 6 in total but here's a selection of 3 of them;

Card recipe;
Tags: Christmas sentiment tags - LOTV
Dies: Holly vine - Memory box

I hope you will pop over to Top Tip Tuesday and check out the fabulous creations from the rest of the team.

Rosette tags

Hello lovely people,

Here we go again with a new challenge at Crafty Little Fairies and our theme this month is...

NOT A SQUARE

I have been enjoying making shaped cards recently so that would have been a good option here but I was suddenly inspired to make some tags or maybe they could be used as decorations?!

I made the rosettes by using a punch along a 12" strip of paper and folding by hand at regular intervals.  If you like your rosettes with more folds then you could join 2 pieces of paper together.

I tied a little jingle bell at the top with twine, which made them instantly unacceptable to Dr. Hubby, but I rather like the noise they make!

Tag recipe;
DP: Silent night - Pion Design (available from Live and Love Crafts)
Bells: Silver jingle bells - The Ribbon Girl
Dies: Swirl flower - Marianne Design

We have FIVE prizes up for grabs this month so do pop over to Crafty Little Fairies to see what you could win and check out the fabulous creations from the rest of the fairies.

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

New baby girl

Hello lovely people,

It's time for a new challenge at In The Pink and our theme this month is...

LUSCIOUS LACE

Although I love lace I don't actually use it all that often on my cards but it is the perfect addition to a new baby card, as are pretty flowers, swirls and a light sprinkling of Frantage.
Much as I love colouring, I also really love these big sentiment stamps from LOTV :-)

It's been a while since I did any arty shots of my cards but thought it might be nice to show the gorgeous flowers a little closer.  I have really become a big fan of these and the roses are my favourites :-)

I have also started adding charms to a few more of my cards and don't you think these teeny baby feet are adorable?!

I also added a simple little tag underneath the sentiment panel.  The letters were stamped and cut out individually; I didn't worry about them being perfect squares as I think it just adds to the shabby chic look!

Card recipe;
DP: Coffee in the arbour - Maja Designs (available from Live and Love Crafts)
Dies: leaf and swirl - Magnolia Doohickey, mini heart collection - Memory box
Charm: feet charm - The Ribbon Girl
Frantage: Stampendous shabby white frantage from Live and Love Crafts

If you haven't already done so then do pop over to In The Pink and check out the gorgeous creations from the rest of the Pink Ladies and from our guest designer :-)

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Challenges I am playing along with;
1.  A Creative Romance (pink)

Criss cross Tilda

Hello lovely people,

It's time for a new challenge at Top Tip Tuesday and our theme this time is...

2 OR MORE RIBBON/TWINE

We are sponsored by 2CuteInk who are offering the winner 2 images of their choice.

I had a sudden desire to do another criss cross card and thought I'd break into my new Maja Design papers too... oooh, these are *really* gorgeous!

As you can see I have been practicing my skin and hair colouring again with this cute Tilda.

I made a large tag to slide into the pocket of the criss cross design; this section of the DP with the sentiment across it was just perfect for it!

Here you can see the tag completely removed revealing the fancy label shape on the tag and even more pretty DP inside the card!
Card recipe;
Image: Tilda catching stars - Magnolia
DP: Coffee in the Arbour - Maja Design (available from Live and Love Crafts)
Dies: leaf and swirl and Tilda lace - both Magnolia

Happy 10th Birthday LOTV!

Hello lovely people,

I took the opportunity of the extra crafting time over the Easter break to make a card to celebrate LOTV's 10th birthday and for a couple of challenges.  I decided on a shabby chic look so the edges of the DP have been distressed, inked and stitched.  I also stamped a little scroll detail in 2 corners.

I experimented with a few new things on this card, one of which was adding a little pull-out tag.  Its a great way to add an extra little message and makes the card more interactive :-)

I also added lots of pretty flowers and another first for me... some pins to add to the shabby chic look.

This is one of the older LOTV stamps in my collection but I like to go back and make sure the older ones get loved too!
Of course, the shabby chic feel wouldn't be complete without a little scattering of Frantage so that's in there too!

Card recipe;
DP: Vintage summer/autumn basics - Maja Designs
Flowers: all from Wild Orchid Crafts
Seam binding / twine: The Ribbon Girl
Large tag: cut by hand and letters are a Quick Kutz die alphabet

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/50/000/51/21 & R30
Hair: E42/43/44
Cake: YR30/E81/E41
Top / candle: B41/91/93/95
Skirt / cake icing: RV91/93/95
Flame: Y21/23/YR23
Wings: RV0000/000/91/93
Ground: T0/1/2/3/4

I hope you are all having a lovely Easter weekend :-)  I have been up to my parents with Dr Hubby and my brother and his girlfriend were there too.  We had a lovely time including an Easter egg hunt - you are never too old for one of those!  Ooh, and I made some mocha cupcakes decorated with mini eggs...yum!

Hugs,
Kat xx

Tag!

Hello lovely people,

Another Thursday and another challenge from us at Crafty Little Fairies and our theme this time is...

ADD A TAG

I had a good old think about what to do for this and then the light bulb came on... my fave way to add sentiments is on little tags so that's what I've done.

I have gone for quite a masculine design and kept it super simple although I now think I should have stitched around the image panel.
I think this card would be lovely as a get well soon or thinking of you card but the sentiment makes it really versatile.

Card recipe;
DP: Hope - Authentique
Ribbon: twill tape - find similar at The Ribbon Girl
Button: from stash

Copic colours;
Fur: E40/41/42/43
Umbrella: B93/95/97/99 & G21/24/YG63/67 & E44/47
Water: B0000/BG70/B21/blender

Head over to Crafty Little Fairies to check out the lovely creations from my teamies.

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Hugs,
Kat xx
