Hello lovely people,
Phew, another busy weekend for me!
It all kicked off with a night out on Friday with much beer and dancing to celebrate a neighbour's birthday.
This was followed by a visit to friends yesterday, where we were treated to some tasty curry, cocktails and a glass (or 3!) of wine :-)
After a wonderful cooked breakfast we headed back home and I enjoyed a nice quiet Sunday afternoon of crafting.
Appropriately the card I have to share with you today is the one I made for my neighbour's special birthday and it is also my first October card for the LOTV Design Collective.
I was struggling to find the right shade of red card to cut the numbers out of and then had what I thought was a rather a bright idea to cut them out of my usual white colouring card and colour them with my Copics. A perfect match and I think the shaded effect looks good too!
He loves vintage cars so the choice of image was a no-brainer and I got to play with this stamp for the first time - yay!

Hi Kat, sounds like you need a quiet week to get over your fun weekend ! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's great to relax and spend time with friends though.
Love your card, so striking in your colour choices and fabulous image colouring too.

What a perfect card for a car loving chap and so brilliantly coloured, as ever. I bet he was chuffed to bits. I think we all forget that we have the power to replicate pretty much any colour with our alcohol markers or inks, yet still scrabble around in our scraps for just the right shade!! xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Kat, I love the little touches of red. The patterned paper clouds look great.

What a fab card for a man..... and especially for a car lover!! The shade of red you've managed looks fantastic.... as we speak I'm making a note of the colours you used... I think I've used three of the four, but not the E39... that gives the perfect darker shading. And good thinking to colour the numbers too.. making them match so well!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you've had a lovely weekend.. good food, good wine, good company.... what more could we ever need in life?!
Hugs

Sounds like a fun weekend. I love toot toot and I love these colours. Wonderful shading and yes the numbers match so well. Fabulous card
ReplyDeleteLove it, love it, love it! And colouring the numbers with your pens is obviously the perfect thing to do. It makes every kind of sense, yet I'll only think of it once in a blue moon, because I can be a bit blonde like that... And you're right. The shading is perfect.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card. x
This is absolutely super Kat and I am sure it was well received. Your colouring is amazing as always and matching the numbers with your copics...well what a brilliant idea! sounds like you had a fun weekend.
ReplyDeleteOoh sounds like you had a lovely weekend :-)

ReplyDeleteHi Kat, sounds like a super weekend. I bet the birthday chap was over the moon with this beautiful card. Your colouring is truly exquisite. I love your shading (the numbers are wonderful). Plus, using red touches for the numbers and little gems to match the car is a gorgeous design addition. Absolutely stunning card in every way.

That's a great idea with the numbers. I've used my copics to colour white card to matt an image onto before now. The shading is great too! Fab card Kat, I bet your friend was chuffed to bits with it.
