Bunnies in love

Hello lovely people,

I do hope everyone is having a good weekend :-)

I went to a beer festival last night but didn't overdo it and it wasn't a really late night so I was raring to go with some crafting today.

Which is just as well, because I have so many fab new stamps I want to play with at the moment that I really need to get cracking!

My first project today was to finish up this card using one of the latest images from LOTV and some gorgeous goodies from The Ribbon Girl.

This might well be my favourite image from the latest release because I think it's sooo cute how one bunny is sprinkling the other with heart petals...awwwww!

It seems I must have been on a bit of a DP binge recently as this is yet another new paper pad and oh, these papers are bee-yoo-tiful...the prettiest soft blue and pink in delicate designs *sigh*

It's been so much fun working with these lovely romantic images from LOTV and I am excited to tell you that there are even more new images on the way in a few weeks time!

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Special delivery

Hello lovely people,

Wow, it got cold!  Really really cold!  That's not a complaint though, and the thick frost was soooo beautiful when I went out for a little walk yesterday.  I think my heating stayed on all day though - lol!

And I stayed tucked up in my craft room :-)

It seems like I haven't done that much colouring lately, maybe because I am focusing on quicker makes for Christmas and maybe because I've had some new stash that has pushed me towards other techniques/styles such as die cutting and chipboard shapes.

Whatever the reason, I think I need to get back to more colouring so on that note I have a card with colouring to share today!

I made this a few weeks ago for a commission and I think baby girl cards might just be my fave type of cards to make...well, there's so much cuteness and pink you can add!

I just realised that this image is no longer available from LOTV (not even in digi format), which is very sad because it's such a gorgeous one.

Since I have this as a rubber stamp and was using such pale papers, I opted to colour it with Inktense pencils and was especially please with my first attempt to colour a cardboard box with them!

Once the colouring and basic layout was done it was on to my favourite bit of the creative process...flower arranging!  It's also probably one of the bits that takes me the longest because the flowers all have to be just right and I'm such a stickler for co-ordination!

I hope everyone's week is going well and if not, sending hugs your way.

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

My favourite little bear

Hello lovely people,

It feels like a long time coming and has been a lot of work but I have finished my prescribing course :-)
I won't find out if I passed the practical exam and case presentation for a few weeks but for now I am just relieved that I made it to the end!

So now it's....

2 sleeps until coffee and cake date with my lovely friends Sue and Debs followed by beer festival

5 sleeps until holibobs

12 sleeps until my birthday

In the meantime we have a new challenge for you at As You Like It and our theme is...

YOUR FAVOURITE...ANIMAL
...and don't forget to tell us why it's your favourite!

Our sponsor this time is Crafty Ribbons with a £10 voucher

My favourite animal in a crafting sense is the one and only James bear because he is so utterly adorable and I always enjoy colouring his fur.

I thought I would see how he looked when coloured with Inktense pencils and it's certainly very different to colouring him with Copics but a lovely soft effect I think.

I kept the embellishments fairly simple so they wouldn't overshadow sweet James or cover up those lovely papers too much.

Celebrate with a cupcake

Hello lovely people,

If you have been following my countdowns you will know that today is the day I head to Bath to undertake my practical exam for the prescribing course.

Then I have a case presentation to give on Wednesday but I'm not worried about that as its only 10 minutes and I'm quite relaxed about giving presentations.

I'll be fine as long as don't drink a big cup of coffee immediately beforehand as I talk quite fast even without the added caffeine...yes, I have made that mistake before - lol!

Onto the crafting and today I have a Paper Nest Dolls card to share, using a paper pad that I have had for a while and somehow haven't used before.

I thought I would use it for wedding cards but it seemed to suit this image really well and even had the perfect sentiment topper for me to use :-)

I think I should treat myself to a cupcake this size after I finish my exams!

Yummy!

I felt that this card needed some bunting to complete the celebratory feel so I made my own using co-ordinating paper from the paper pad.
I cut the little flags by hand, folded the top of each flag over a length of twine and glued them down.  I attached it to the card with foam pads on the back of the flags and trimmed the ends of the twine and covered them with flowers.
I do love bunting; it makes me smile :-)

Easter gift baskets

Hello lovely people,

Are you ready for a countdown update?!

13 sleeps until the final exams for my prescribing course

19 sleeps until holibobs

Oh, and of course... 26 sleeps until my birthday!

We now have our new car (a beautiful red Mazda MX5) and I totally adore it!  I'll try to remember to take some pics to share although some of you will already have seen it on facebook :-)

But I'm really here to tell you that we have a new challenge at As You Like It and our theme this time is...

YOUR FAVOURITE...
ANYTHING BUT A CARD
...and don't forget to tell us why it's your favourite!

Our sponsor this time is Lawn Fawn with a stamp set and 6x6" paper pad of the winner's choice

My favourite non-card projects are gift bags or boxes, or in this case...baskets!
I made these a few weeks ago to give to my parents and my brother and his girlfriend for Easter.

Folded gift baskets

I found a template for the basket on Pinterest but didn't print it out as it was pretty easy to see how to make each basket up, and I amended it a little to have one handle instead of two.
Then they just needed decorating with my fave flowers and swirly die cuts.

Folded gift baskets

This is the other side...the 'back' if you will as the front has the tag on it, and the arrangement of flowers and die cuts is slightly different.

Folded gift baskets

This is what they looked like once filled with a mixture of chocolate eggs.  The bright colours of the eggs clash with the pastel papers for me but I can't imagine the recipients were bothered by that!

Cake glorious cake!

Hello lovely people,

It's time for a new challenge at As You Like It and our theme this time is...

YOUR FAVOURITE...occasion
...and don't forget to tell us why it's your favourite!

Our sponsor this time is Bunny Zoes Crafts with a £10 voucher

My favourite occasion to make cards for is birthdays because it's so nice to personalise each card with a specially chosen image or their name.

I especially like making girly birthday cards because I can make pretty cards like this one!

LOTV have been bringing back some of the previously retired stamps but sadly not this one...yet!
I totally adore this stamp and use her quite often.
Maybe I am drawn to it because of the size of that cake....yummy!

I don't think I have posted a card with this Happy Birthday banner before and I *really* love it so you will be seeing more of it!

Pretty pastels

Hello lovely people,

It's another exciting day for me today...no, not another DT...lol!
This morning I am off for coffee (and maybe cake?!) with a lovely lady I met in blogland (that's you Sue!) and I am very excited to meet her in person!

Meanwhile, it's time for a new challenge at As You Like It and our theme this time is...

YOUR FAVOURITE...BRIGHTS OR PASTELS
...and don't forget to tell us why it's your favourite!

Our sponsor this time is Sweet Pea Stamps

I am definitely a fan of pastels as I love the soft romantic look they give, and I was in a purple mood for this floral design; my fave colour after pink!

Lilac floral card featuring 'Summer Bunch' by LOTV

If this looks quite a vibrant pastel colour then it may just be the computer screen; I find this looks different on my 2 screens and it is properly pastel IRL!

The sentiment was generated on my computer so I could fit it on this cute tag and I love to layer tags up with twine and a charm; it looks so sweet!
