Wine time!

Hello lovely people,

It's Friday, so it's time for a Dies to Die For DT card and later tonight I think it will be time for a nice glass of wine...

I bought this image because I absolutely loved it (as I say, I do appreciate a nice glass of wine!) but then I looked at it properly and wondered if I would ever be brave enough to colour it...look at those dresses!

But then I did the Copic level 1 and 2 classes and some extra classes with the amazingly talented Faye, and suddenly I did feel brave enough!

I have to say I really love the bright colours of this card and also that sentiment...so very true!

If that was me pouring though, my friend would have wine all over her hair - lol!

Awesome sticky notes

Hello lovely people,

I have a Dies to Die For DT project to share today...but of course, because it's Friday!!

I wasn't sure I should really use this as a DT project because I've only used ONE main item from DtDF on it and the rest is from my stash!

But what an item it is and there is a story behind this too...

I really loved these Mama Elephant sticky notes stamps when they were released but convinced myself that I didn't really need them and probably wouldn't use them, and didn't buy them.  Last weekend at a show with DtDF I spotted these and decided that yes, I really did need these and now I am so glad I bought them because they are...well, awesome!

So, the moral of my story is...if you really really want something then just buy it - lol!!!

Ok, so as well as the stamps I did use a scrap of MFT paper for the notes, which I fussy cut out, and then also fussy cut a separate bulldog clip which I coloured pink.

And there's also a stitched square; to be fair, it's rare that I make a project without a stitched shape die on it!

Inside is fairly plain and simple but I wrapped the twine all the way around so it shows inside too.

Now I'm looking forward to seeing what else I can create with this fab stamp set!

Bee mine

Hello lovely people,

Merry Friday everyone, and here I am again with my weekly Dies to Die For DT card.

Now, this is pretty unusual for me...I went back for another play with a stamp set that I used only recently; that doesn't happen often because I am usually too eager to move on to playing with other new stash!
However, these bees are just too cute and I really wanted to make a shaker card with them.

I've heat embossed the hexagon background in white then inked the panel with Distress Oxides.

I stamped the heart trail on the full panel, then die cut the hexagon shape and stuck that to the card front.  I added the plastic pouch to the aperture, piled up my sequins on the hexagon stuck to the card front, and attached the panel over the top, lining it up with the hexagon on the card.

I could have just put the plastic pouch on top of the inked panel and covered the edges with the frame, but I wanted the plastic pouch to be sitting right at the bottom of all the card layers because then it sticks out less and I think it looks neater.

The sentiment is computer generated because the stamp set didn't have the words I wanted!

Jar of hearts

Hello lovely people,

You can tell it's Friday if I'm posting, as I only seem to have time for blogging my Dies to Die For DT cards at the moment.

I'm still creating love themed cards with all my fab new stash and today is a little Lawn Fawn offering...

The 'How You Bean' jar stamp and die set was released a little while ago but the Conversation Hearts add-on is part of the newest release and I loved it so much, I just had to go back and buy all the original jar stamps/dies so I could get the heart add-on!

I stamped and coloured the hearts and then decided to add the words...all I can say is thank goodness for the MISTI, combined with a bit of judicious masking!
