Penguin Gift Bags

Hello lovely people,

So that's Christmas over for another year, but I have one more Christmassy thing to share for my Dies to Die For DT project this week...

I made these little gift bags to pop some choccies in for my family.

The gift bag is a Mama Elephant die and it's quite an investment so I have debated a long time whether to get it, and I am so glad I did because these bags are fabulous!

I guess it's hard to get a sense of the scale of these; the bag portion is about 10.5 x 8cm and here's me holding one.

FYI: this is the ONLY time I painted my nails all year - lol!

I used some cute penguins to decorate them because I just love penguins!

I have to give a shout out to the Uniko sentiment I used here because it's totally brilliant and I have both Christmas and everyday sentiment sets.  You can't buy these from Dies to Die For online but they do have them at the shows so definitely check them out!

Next time I'm writing will be 2019 (eeek!), so see you then :-)

If I've tempted you with any of the lovely supplies I've used then you can go straight to the individual products via the links below or just pop over to Dies to Die For and have a little browse around!

Thanks for popping in and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Hot Chocolate Cutie

Hello lovely people,

Just 4 sleeps to go!!!!

I was making Christmas cards right up until a couple of days ago when I finally put away all my Christmas stash!

I coloured up one of the gorgeous Stamping Bella cuties and wanted to share her as my Dies to Die For DT inspiration this week...

CAS Christmas card with hot chocolate mug (image is Teeny Tiny Townie Hot Chocolate by Stamping Bella)

I coloured this stamp up just before the lovely Elaine (Marker Geek) released her colouring video for it - doh!

If you want to check it out head over HERE and I will definitely be watching it when I get a spare few minutes...and maybe having another go because I love to colour along :-)

CAS Christmas card with hot chocolate mug (image is Teeny Tiny Townie Hot Chocolate by Stamping Bella)

I spent all my time on the colouring and none of it on the design here...just a bit of festive red stripe and sparkle...and what is now definitely one of my favourite Christmas sentiment stamps!

By the way...do you think this Teeny Tiny Townie is actually IN the hot chocolate or just behind it?!

Festive flamingo

Hello lovely people,

It's a Fabulously Festive Flamingo Friday!!

I've been enjoying a day off today and made a few more Christmas cards as I just can't seem to stop so am sharing one as my Dies to Die For DT inspiration today.

I tried hard to resist jumping on the flamingo bandwagon...but you can see how much willpower I have - lol!

Festive flamingo Christmas card (using MFT Festive Flamingos stamps)

I initially planned to add the 'Fla la la la la la la mingo' sentiment to this cute CAS design, but wasn't sure it worked so well once I'd used the text paper, so I left it off.

I might just stamp it inside because it's too good not to use!

Oh, and did I mention that you can get this stamp and matching die set with 35% off right now?  Well now I have, so even if you're done with Christmas cards this year I'd grab one and save it for next year!

Elf bonanza!

Hello lovely people,

I have not one, not even two, but THREE projects to share for my Dies to Die For DT post this week!

I wanted to share a variety of ideas for using the Mama Elephant Little Agenda stamps because yes, they are utterly adorable but isn't it hard sometimes to create designs with such teeny images?!

There are lots of different Little Agenda sets but I've chosen to use the gorgeous cheeky elves, so it's an elf bonanza!

For my first project I've used polaroid frames as I think this is just perfect to add a selection of images.

If you didn't have polaroid dies this would work really well with the images matted onto squares or circles of coloured card.

I've kept to traditional colours for this card and added a little sparkle to the hats...that was a challenge as the area I wanted to sparkle was sooooo tiny - lol!

The small size of the images makes them perfect for tags and these mini scalloped tags are so pretty they don't need any extra detail; I just stamped straight onto the tags.

I've coloured on Kraft just for a change, and gone with a less traditional colour scheme.

Finally I wanted to show that you can still make a decent size card using just one tiny image; this card is slightly smaller than A6.

Layering up some frames adds interest around the image and don't be afraid to leave a big area of white space around your image as it will just make it pop!

Are you fed up of elves after all that?!

Nope, me neither...I could play with these cuties all day long - lol!

If I've tempted you with any of the lovely supplies I've used then you can go straight to the individual products via the links below or just pop over to Dies to Die For and have a little browse around!

More penguins please!

Hello lovely people,

Isn't it just the best thing when new crafty stash drops through the letter box?!

I am quite sure I have enough Christmas stamps, and MORE than enough penguins...buuuut there's always room for one more, right?!

So, my Dies to Die For DT card today features one of the adorable penguins from the new Pretty Pink Posh release.
Handcrafted Christmas card with cute snow angel penguin (stamp from Pretty Pink Posh)

Awwww, he's making a snow penguin angel!

I've even used some older stash on here too with the paper strip and sentiment die, which I confess to never having used since I bought it last year...shhhh, it's our secret!

Foxy Christmas

Hello lovely people,

Yep, I'm still Christmas crafting...well, I have so many new things I just *had* to have that need using!

So here's my Dies to Die For DT card using one of my new stamp sets...

Cute Romantic Foxes Christmas Card using Sunny Studios Foxy Friends

As usual, the design is super simple but I love the detail that stitched dies add; they really lift a design I think.

I wanted it to look like the foxes are sitting on the sentiment strip, which is raised up just a tiny bit with foam pads.

These foxes are from the latest Sunny Studio release and one of the reasons I loved this set is that several of the images could definitely be used all year round, like this one.

Oh, and they are just the cutest too!

Tweet holiday greetings

Hello lovely people,

Ahem, it's been a while hasn't it?!

Nothing terrible to report...other than my utter pants-ness at getting any blog posts done recently.

But I am back now with a Dies to Die For DT card :-)

Christmas card for the one I love with cute robin pair (image from MFT)

I'll admit that I was quite restrained with the latest MFT release but there was no way I could resist the sweet robin stamps, especially this pair all snuggled up sharing a scarf...just tooooooo cute!

I also used the new holiday sentiment background and stamped it with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide.

Sparkly Star Bottle Tag

Hello lovely people,

I love creating non-card projects so for my Dies to Die For DT make this week I am sharing a simple and elegant wine bottle tag.

Handcrafted sparkly stars wine bottle tag

I just love this die and it's such a great way to dress up a bottle of something as a gift...or it doubles quite nicely as a door hanger!

I've gone with a white and silver theme as you can't beat a bit of sparkle for Christmas :-)

Handcrafted sparkly stars wine bottle tag

I die cut the large stitched circle then stamped the sentiment onto it using my Misti.

I layered up 2 of the star frames as I think this gives it a more dimensional finish and then added a few more die cut stars as accents.

Alpaca fun!

Hello lovely people,

It's Friday again and I am popping in with my Dies to Die For DT creation.

I made the 'mistake' of taking a peek at the new Sunny Studio release...and of course a few items just fell in my basket - ooooops!

So this is one of the gorgeous tag die sets; I had to get both because they have loads of different elements so you can build tons of designs with just the cutest details.

And I fell in love with the alpaca set...although I'm pretty sure these could double as llamas too!

...Llampaca anyone?!

I've coloured this cutie with Copics using a dotting technique to make him look furry and of course, a little sparkle was a must for the hat!

Reveal wheel gaming fun

Hello lovely people,

Friday...Friyay!!

So that means a Dies to Die For DT card and I finally had time to play with my Lawn Fawn reveal wheel dies to make this fun card for my nephew.

I've used a fab Lawn Fawn stamp set for the little scene because he does love his gaming...well, he's a 13 year old boy so what do you expect?!

I stamped three words on the reveal wheel and then added die cut numbers for the age.

This was pretty straightforward to put together and it does work beautifully...and of course it's just soooooo much fun to spin the wheel and see what pops into the aperture :-)

If I've tempted you with any of the lovely supplies I've used then you can go straight to the individual products via the links below or just pop over to Dies to Die For and have a little browse around!

STOCK NOTE: Several items I have used are out of stock so just hit the 'notify when back in stock' button and type in your email address so you'll know as soon as it's available :-)

Big birthday balloon

Hello lovely people,

I've been doing a little die cutting for my Dies to Die For DT card this week, using one of the recent MFT sentiment dies, which I teamed up with a balloon edge die from a blueprints set.  This particular blueprint set is currently out of stock, but you could also cut the balloon shape by hand, or use a circle die and add the little piece at the bottom.

I die cut the balloon shape from purple stripy card, then taped the words in place where I wanted them before die cutting them.  I removed the letters but made sure to keep all the little bits from the centres of letters like the B.  I added some twine before attaching the balloon piece to a square of white card so I would have a backing to attach the letters to.  I die cut the words again from silver glitter card and inlaid them in the spaces, popping the purple centres back in where necessary.

Once again, I've made this design in a few different colours...with girl and boy options!

Love birds

Hello lovely people,

I'm coming over all romantic with my Dies to Die For DT card today, which is actually pretty appropriate given that it's my wedding anniversary on Saturday!

Romantic card using MFT Birds of a Feather

I love all the cute elements from this MFT die set and how you can make cards for lots of occasions with them.  I originally sat down to make a new home card but this happened instead!

Romantic card using MFT Birds of a Feather

I coloured the birds, leaves and hearts with Distress Oxides.

I inked the birds after they were die cut so I could give them a little bit of an ombre finish, but for the leaves and hearts I just inked a piece of white card then die cut from that.
