A pre-coloured celebration!

Hello lovely people,

It's fast approaching the end of another weekend and once again it has been a good one :-)
Saturday was spent with my sister-in-law, her OH and our 2 nephews and we had a fun day including a fabulous maize maze, tasty ice cream and some crafting.
Today has been a day of crafting, making tomato sauce from our home grown plum tomatoes and watching The Imitation Game in our home cinema...which was an absolutely brilliant film.   Love love LOVE Benedict Cumberbatch :-)
Oh, and I made some chocolate and hazelnut biscotti for good measure...yes, I was inspired by The Great British Bake Off!

Food and baking seems to feature regularly on my blog but I do have a card to share with you as well...

I am forever putting off doing male cards as I always feel a lack of mojo for them but I have to say that this one was actually quite a quick make and I love how the design turned out.

The speed was partly due to the pre-coloured image I used...it is *not* cheating ;-)

I bought some word dies a while ago and I love to add dimension to them by cutting them 3 times and layering them up.

Card recipe;
DP: Special delivery (baby boy) - Pebbles
Dies: Birthday words - Paper Smooches (from Dies to Die For)
Border punch: Martha Stewart scallop dot edge punch

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend, whatever you were up to :-)

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Challenges I am entering;
Fussy and Fancy (birthdays)

  1. A great card for a chap Kat and you certainly aren't cheating (although it always feels like it I know) as the craft is putting it all together successfully. We thoroughly enjoyed The Imitation Game too...great film. We watched The Judge with Robert Duvall and Robert Downey Jr, that was a great watch while it was pouring down this afternoon!! xx

  3. I love this card Kat, I really do. I know it is pre-coloured but this whole card is so you. If it weren't pre-coloured, this is exactly how you would have coloured it.

  8. I thought that sentiment was a wooden one. Wonderful idea to do it in the Kraft type paper so it looks like wood. Love the dimension on it too. CUTE image and a fantastic card!

  10. I love using pre coloured images, toppers, I think it takes all the hassle out of it, I use them lots for quick cards and always add some shading and glitter, to make them my own, I love the paper you have teamed it with and the fabulous border, amazing male make :0) looks fab sweetie, mmmmmmm biscotti :0)

  11. Not cheating at all Kat, that's what they're for to make life easier :) We all have quick cards we need to make and like you I find male cards a bit tricky. I have lots of feminine/girly embellishments but very few masculine ones and I struggle with the decoration of the card to finish it off. Yours however, is a beauty! A great image, fab papers, just enough detail with the border punch and twine plus that fantastic layered word die-cut. Take care and enjoy your week.

  12. Well you managed this male card really well Kat.. it's perfect for either male or female in fact! I do love that starry dark blue paper - I may have to watch out for that.

    Glad you had a good weekend...... food, family, baking and crafting - with the odd bit of Benedict thrown in.... what more could a girl need?

    Big hugs
