Hard to choose a favourite!

Hello lovely people,

It's time for a new challenge at In The Pink and our theme this time is...

YOUR FAVOURITE RUBBER STAMP / IMAGE

Or one of your favourites if you're like me and could never pick just one!
Don't forget we want to see more pink than any other colour!

Our fabulous sponsor this time is Bunny Zoe's Crafts with a £10 voucher

I have been playing with my new floral frame dies to create a shaped base for this card and I cut down the card blank to fit the back of the shape, leaving the back section longer so it matches the height of the frame on the front.

This image is a real favourite of mine because it's so glamorous and involves wine - lol!
I like the name too...Opal the Optimist is clearly a glass half full lady and I like that.
I don't think she is sharing that bottle with anyone though from the way she is hugging it!

Since I was going for proper girly on this card it had to be finished off with a touch of sparkle on the dress and a few flowers but I like that it's still relatively simple.

Heart of flowers

Hello lovely people,

Aaarrrggghhh!  It's deadline week!
I have to submit all my coursework for the first part of my prescribing course by the end of the week so not much time for crafting this week:-(

While I crack on with my essays, it's Creative Inspirations challenge time and this week we have the theme...

WHITE ON WHITE

Our fabulous sponsor this week is Live and Love Crafts with a £10 voucher

I have had the idea for this design in my head for a while and by some miracle it turned out just like I wanted!
I created the embossed background using my score board.
And no, I haven't lost my needle and thread but I just felt this design didn't need any stitching...shocking I know!

White on white card featuring heart made of tiny flowers

I drew a very faint pencil heart outline and arranged all the flowers before shaping them slightly with a ball tool and sticking them down.

Presents!

Hello lovely people,

Here we are again on a Monday and it's been a frosty one where I am, but no snow...yet!

I'm just back from a lovely relaxing week away in a cottage near Exeter :-)
I planned for the poor weather by taking some colouring and a good book with me.
We managed a little walking and lots of cake; despite it being November I still had to have a cream tea!

So today I'm showcasing some LOTV products as part of the Design Collective and I'm still busy making Christmas cards.

Huge apologies that this image is actually one of the ones that have just been retired but there are loads of other cute Christmas images still available.

I was spoilt for choice as to where to add some sparkle but tried to be a bit selective!

Copic colours;

Rest: not sure because I did it on holiday and didn't write it down!

I wish you all a lovely week whatever you are up to...even if you are working!

Sparkle bubble tree

Hello lovely people,

It's time for a new challenge at As You Like It and our theme this time is...

YOUR FAVOURITE SEASON
...and don't forget to tell us why it's your favourite!

Our sponsor this time is Sweet and Sassy Stamps

My favourite season for card making is winter because I love all the festive images, beautiful snowflakes and of course, adding lots of sparkle to my creations.
I only usually start making my Christmas cards in October/November but I LOVE doing them and always end up with way more Christmas supplies than I need!
This fabulous stamp I got at the NEC Hobbycrafts show is a case in point because I really didn't need any more Christmas stash but I fell in love with it and *had* to have it!
I think this image could be used all year round for other occasions too so it was totally worth getting it ;-)

Winter sparkle tree (Bubble tree from Woodware)

I made the card candy dots myself using a new die and teamed them with glittered Copic coloured dots, pearls and Nuvo crystal drops; I really love this mix of different textures :-)

I am so excited to try this in some different colours...pink maybe?!

Carol singing

Hello lovely people,

Here we are halfway through the week again so of course it's Creative Inspirations challenge time and this week we have the theme...

FESTIVE FUN!

We are sponsored by Crafts U Love with a £10 voucher

I took the speedy option this week with a pre-coloured art pad image but I really love these cute carol singing critters and it was an absolute no-brainer to team it with the music paper.
I'm doing really well with keeping my Christmas cards flatter this year!

I couldn't resist adding a little sparkle to the image...it's mandatory for Christmas cards don't you know?!

Pink bauble

Hello lovely people,

For those of you keeping up with my exploits as part of my prescribing course I spent most of yesterday learning to take a full medical history from patients and practised my 'skills' on 3 poor unsuspecting victims patients!
Today I shall be writing up my notes from that and also an essay on consent and confidentiality...oh what fun!

Speaking of fun, and not in an ironic way, it's time for a new challenge at In The Pink and our theme for this one is...

FANCY FOLD / SHAPE

So, that's any kind of folded design, a card with folding detail or any shaped design that's not a square or rectangle...with more pink than any other colour of course!

We are sponsored this time by The Hobby House with a £10 voucher

I picked up some MDF baubles at the NEC Hobbycrafts show and couldn't wait to have a play so here's my slightly shabby chic  bauble decoration...

I used my favourite little snowflake dies and added some gems...the sparkler on the biggest snowflake also came from the NEC and I LOVE...good job I bought a few ;-)

With the option of a sketch; you can use any of the ones from the Creative Inspirations sketch page or this lovely new one;

I chose to use the sketch above but rotated it 180 degrees and added the sentiment tag on some twine.
These are some of my new papers from the Hobbycrafts show and they are GORGEOUS!

Hello lovely people,

I have an apology to make as I have been so busy over the last week that I haven't had time to catch up with all your blogs but I plan to pop round tonight.

Today is another busy day but a nice one as I shall be mostly crafting and catching up on my DT cards.

Speaking of which...it's new stamp release day at LOTV and there are all sorts of Little Folk and Little Critters for you to choose from.

Here's a little sample I made as part of the Design Collective with one of the new stamps;

NEC goodies and 100 followers candy draw

Hello lovely people,

I had a fantastic day at the Hobbycrafts show at the NEC last Thursday and thought you might like to see my purchases.
WARNING: this is going to involve a lot of pictures!

After all the pics I will do my 100 followers candy draw so please feel free to scroll straight to that if you wish!

Firstly I did some stocking up on essentials...lace, sticky foam pads, Distress ink pads and sparkly things

Amazingly, I only got a couple of new stamps...

Then I found some utterly bargainous papers at £1 a pad!

Something new to try in the form of Nuvo Drops, and I think I'm going to love these :-)

Lots of lovely MDF shapes to decorate...

The purchases started getting a bit bigger as I splashed out on some new dies...

So then I thought I should really buy something to store my expanding collection of dies...

And the grand finale....a Tonic Tangerine!
I am already pretty in love with this machine but I'll give you all a proper review when I've tested it a bit more.

After all those lovely treats for me I think it is time to draw a winner for my 100 followers candy and that is...

That's you Sharon H!

Congratulations to you and please contact me via the sidebar with your postal address :-)

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Glamorous birthday girl

Hello lovely people,

I've had a fun but busy couple of days on my course in Bath, and I have slightly more of a clue what to do with the stethoscope I bought myself now!

After all that hard work, I am off to the Hobbycrafts show at the NEC today and will no doubt be treating myself to many new craft supplies!
I also hope to meet up with some wonderful crafting buddies, both ones I have met before and ones I haven't, so I'm super excited about that :-)

While I'm off spending my pennies, here's our new challenge at As You Like It and we have the theme of...

HOBBY

Sparkly snowflake

Hello lovely people,

It's Creative Inspirations challenge time and this week we have the theme...

SPARKLE

We are sponsored by Stamp and Create with a $20 voucher

As soon as I saw this amazing snowflake die I just *had* to have it because I could just see all the lovely CAS designs I could make with it.
Sadly I only managed to cut just this one snowflake out before my poor old Cuttlebug refused to cut any more all the way through :-(
I think I may need a new die cutting machine ;-)
Any recommendations or 'don't buys'?

I brushed the snowflake all over with a clear Wink of Stella pen so it has a lovely subtle shimmer...you can just see a hint of it in the photo....hmm, maybe!

Card recipe;
Snowflake: Large snowflake - Impression Obsession
Sentiment: Pink Petticoat (discontinued)
Gems: from stash
