Bunny blooms

Hello lovely people,

Today I have a card using a few pretty things from The Ribbon Girl, although surprisingly none of their lovely flowers this time.

I decided that no flowers were needed since the daffodils seemed to have that angle well and truly covered!

This is one of the latest release from LOTV and for someone who doesn't really like yellow, I am finding myself drawn to the images with daffodils in...I think it must be because they are such a classic sign of Spring!

Since I wasn't adding any flowers I added a bit of detail with some die cuts, a few hints of cheesecloth, and a layered combo of lace, ribbon and twine.

If you find yourself tempted by any of the pretty supplies I've used then you can go straight to the individual products via the thumbnails at the end of my post or just pop over to The Ribbon Girl and have a little browse around!

LOTV Hedgehogs for you!

Hello lovely people,

It's new release day at LOTV so I have another little DT make to tempt you ;-)

The digital images are now available with the rubber versions to follow very soon.  For my last sneak peek I used one of the vintage boys so this time I have used one of the super cute critter scenes.

All the animals are soooo cute but I found myself especially drawn to the little hedgehogs.  I don't think I have done much hedgehog colouring before but these were really fun to colour!

Polar friends in pink

Hello lovely people,

I'm a little late with my DT post but this was sadly down to me being rather poorly with a vomiting bug on Wednesday.  I am not 100% yet but feeling a lot better so I was able to do a little gentle crafting today.

It's time for another exciting new challenge at In The Pink and our theme is...

LOTS OF LAYERS
Don't forget we want to see more pink than any other colour!

Our fabulous sponsor this time is Polkadoodles with a £6.75 voucher

I was itching to grab all my pretty embellies for this design but I really must try to keep my Christmas cards flat for posting so I resisted!

All the layers add plenty of interest anyway and a few die cut details and a smattering of Nuvo drops did the rest :-)

This is such a lovely detailed image that maybe adding embellies would have detracted from it anyway.

Carol singing

Hello lovely people,

Here we are halfway through the week again so of course it's Creative Inspirations challenge time and this week we have the theme...

FESTIVE FUN!

We are sponsored by Crafts U Love with a £10 voucher

I took the speedy option this week with a pre-coloured art pad image but I really love these cute carol singing critters and it was an absolute no-brainer to team it with the music paper.
I'm doing really well with keeping my Christmas cards flatter this year!

I couldn't resist adding a little sparkle to the image...it's mandatory for Christmas cards don't you know?!

Hello lovely people,

Another week is flying by...it's Wednesday again (happy hump day to those that work!) and that means it's Creative Inspirations challenge time and this week we have the theme...

ANYTHING GOES
With the option of a sketch; you can use any of the ones from the Creative Inspirations sketch page or this lovely new one;

We are sponsored this week by All Dressed Up with a prize of 2 digi's of the winners choice

I chose to use the sketch above but rotated it 180 degrees and added the sentiment tag on some twine.
These are some of my new papers from the Hobbycrafts show and they are GORGEOUS!

This is an ADU image and as you might expect, it's very cute!  I also love to colour red so I really enjoyed this.

Take it slow

Hello lovely people,

Ooooh, has that been a whole week since I last posted?!

I had a little jaunt to Norfolk from Friday - Monday with the Caterham 7 car club and we had so much fun whizzing around in our cars, eating lots of yummy food and generally having a giggle...especially when we got lost!
It was gorgeously sunny the whole time so that was an extra special treat when you are in an open top car!

Then I have been at Bath University for the past 2 days for the first 2 study days of my prescribing course and boy, I now realise what I have let myself in for!
It was great to meet all the other students though and we got to have a play at taking blood pressures on the simulation arm which was fun :-)

Moving on from my little update and we have a new challenge for you at In The Pink with the theme...

1-2-3

So, we want to see 1 of something, 2 of something and...yes, you guessed it...3 of something on your project.
With more pink than any other colour of course!

Our wonderful sponsor this time is The Ribbon Girl with a £10 voucher
The recipe for my design is;
1 image
2 flower clusters and 2 bows
3 DPs

And I think it turned out pretty tasty!

Pink and girly card featuring Sally and her snail by Stamping Bella

It was love at first sight for me and this stamp, so it was only a matter of time before I bought it, and already I can't wait to colour her again!

There is something so joyful about this image :-)

After I added the top photo I realised the flower charm was a little wonky because the card was lying flat for the photo but it does dangle freely IRL as you can see here!

Birthday fun

Hello lovely people,

Gosh, I feel like I have been very busy and productive this week, so what have I been up to?

I've done a lot of cleaning and I think my house has never been so clean all at once!

I also had time to do a little shopping to update my wardrobe for autumn/winter with some new skinny jeans and lots of cosy jumpers.

And I've been beavering away on my customised planner sheets to go in my absolutely awesome shiny hot pink Filofax... I love it soooooo much!

I did find time for some crafting too and today I am sharing my card for our new challenge at As You Like It with the theme of...

YOUR FAVOURITE...sweet or savoury
...and don't forget to tell us why it's your favourite!

Our sponsor for this challenge is My Mum's Craft Shop

I decided to use a LOTV art pad image which has a delicious looking cake on it.  I am definitely a 'sweet' girl...chocolate, ice cream, cake...I'm not fussy!

This simple design and colour scheme works for anyone so I think this is going in my stash for when I need a birthday card at the last minute!

Just a few sweet details...sparkle on the cake, a teeny paperclip to hold the tags on and I didn't even have to stitch because the die cut did all the work for me!

Card recipe;
Image: Jack, Patch & Puss art pad - LOTV
DP: Yours truly - Pebbles
Twine: Cappuccino bakers twine (set of 4 colours) - Hemptique
Tags: Sentiment tags - LOTV
Dies: In & out stitched rounded squares - MFT Die-namics

Do pop over to As You Like It and check out the fabulously creative projects from the rest of the team :-)

I hope you are all having a wonderful and productive week so far and hey, it's nearly the weekend!

Bye bye to Top Tip Tuesday

Hello lovely people,

It's time for a new challenge at Top Tip Tuesday but as you may have guessed from my post title is is the last ever challenge...so sad :-(

I may not have been on the team all that long but it what a wonderful team to have been part of; such fabulous people to work with, such inspiring creativity, and I have enjoyed every second of it :-)

Our very last theme for you is...

RIBBONS & PEARLS

We have an incredible number of sponsors for our last challenge so I'm not going to list them all here but you can see them all on the Top Tip Tuesday post.

Ribbons and pearls usually sends me off in a flurry of pretty pink girlyness, but for some reason this time I was inspired to make a Christmas card...
...my first Christmas card this year!

I wanted to create a design that looked great, was easy to produce lots of but where I could change a few details to personalise each one.

So, I dragged myself away from the Copics...far too time consuming...and chose a LOTV pre-coloured art pad image.
These are so stylish and fitted well with my idea of an 'easy' design; the only thing I added was a touch of sparkle on the snow.

Then I chose a criss cross design, which you may be thinking is utter madness compared to a standard square card!
However, I find them really quick and easy to fold, and they are a lovely shape to design on...so they look fancy but are really easy :-)

Card recipe;
DP: A gift for you - Maja Design (available from Live and Love Crafts)
Seam binding: The Ribbon Girl

I hope you will pop over to Top Tip Tuesday and check out the fabulously creative projects from the rest of the team and I hope you can join in our last challenge :-)

Finishing touches

Hello lovely people,

I seem to have developed a thing recently for having several cards on the go at once.  It was getting a bit silly when I had 7, yes 7, half finished cards on my desk... and I was running out of space to craft in!
So, I have finished 5 of the 7 cards and consequently will have lots to share with you over the next few weeks :-)

First up is my card for our new challenge at In The Pink and our theme this time is...

DIE CUTS AND/OR PUNCHES

I have made a buckle card and if you want more details of how to make one of these, check out my tutorial here.
The die cut swirl I have used is a firm favourite of mine especially as you can cut it up to fit where you want it and create slightly different shapes.

The 'buckle' slides out from under the image panel like so...

The inside is decorated both to look pretty and to hide the buckle mechanism.

I used my fave little bear, sweet James from LOTV, and I'm sorry to say this rubber stamp has now been discontinued :-(

The fishtails for the sentiment were cut by hand and I used foam pads to add some dimension to them.

Card recipe;
DP: Vintage frost basics - Maja Design(available from Live and Love Crafts)
Dies:Leaf and swirl - Magnolia Doohickey
Tag: Christmas sentiment tags - LOTV
Snowflake charm: Snowflake 1 charm - The Ribbon Girl

Copic colours;
Fur: not entirely sure as I coloured his fur a while ago but I usually use E41/42/43 and maybe E44
Hat / scarf: RV91/93/95
Ground / fur on hat: W00/0/1/2

Celebrate

Hello lovely people,

I have had a lovely weekend with my sister-in-law, her other half and my niece and nephew but am properly exhausted now.  A Saturday night out at a Chaser gig accompanied by a few cheeky glasses (bottles?!) of red wine and a lot of dancing on the tables may have had something to do with that but oh, it was so much fun :-D

Earlier this week it was my other sister-in-law's hubby's birthday and I was running a bit late with making his card so opted for an easy CAS design and here it is...

I fancied a bit of black and white colouring and chose this fab LOTV image from one of the sketch pads, but it is also available as a rubber stamp.  The monochrome colouring proved to be a nice quick option as I didn't have to spend time matching all the colours to my DP!

Card recipe;
Image: Jack, Patch and Puss sketch pad - LOTV (rubber stamp version here)
DP: Flea Market 'treasure' - Crate Paper
Twine: The Ribbon Girl (temporarily closed)
Enamel dots: MME cut & paste flair 'sweet'

Copic colours;
Dog: W2-4 & 5-8
Cat: W00-1 & 1-4
Cake: various W series
Ground: W00-3

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and it's going to be an early night for me tonight so I am fresh for work tomorrow!
Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Hugs,
Kat xx
