What's new?

Hello lovely people,

The last few days have been very exciting as I have had several parcels of craft goodies delivered!  I often end up ordering lots of stuff all at once and then the fun starts!  I was also lucky enough to win some fabulous candy from Jen of The Tiny Blue Butterfly; if you haven't seen her beautiful CAS cards then I suggest a visit to her blog...after you finish reading my post of course :-P

So, some of the things I have treated myself to include;
- the final set of Copic sketch markers so I now have them all :-)
- some fab dies
- some frantage (eventually took the plunge!)
- an enormous load of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts - well they were on sale so it would have been rude not to ;-)
- a huge pile of Maja Design papers as they are my favourites

Ok, after all that waffle I do have a card to share with you using just a few of my new items;

I had a go with the Frantage and got it all over my craft room floor and myself but had a lot of fun doing it!  I think  need a little more practice to get a slightly lighter scattering but I'm pretty happy with my first attempt and it is soooo pretty!
Talking of pretty, here is a close up of little Ava;

I have used lots of layers as usual but without matting them onto Kraft card or inking the edges for a change and really like the subtle effect.  You can see some of my new flowers on the corner of the card and one has had a little Frantage treatment as well :-)

Card recipe;
DP: Maja Designs - Sofiero (limited edition) - available from Live and Love Crafts
Seam binding / flowers / pearls; from Wild Orchid Crafts
Twine: from my candy win
Frantage: Shabby White from Live and Love Crafts
Sentiment: from LOTV
Leaves: Memory Box Lavish Branch die
Butterflies: Impression Obsession die

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/000/00/51 & R30
Hair: E51/53/55
Eyes: B91/93
Pink bits: RV11/32/34
Green bits: G40 & YG61/63
Shoes: E42/43/44
Pale grey bits: N0/1/2

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;

1.  Saturated Canary (Celebrate)
2.  A Creative Romance (ribbon or twine - both in my case!)
3.  Sweet Stampin' (butterflies and bows)
4.  The Ribbon Girl (add a bow)
5.  ABC (quite a few layers)

Thanks for visiting and for sticking with my super long post today.  I hope to be back soon to share some more new stuff with you all :-)

Hugs,
Kat xx

  4. Hi Kat - a beautiful card and I LOVE the thickness of your Frantage EP around the edges of your card. You have me sold. I need to get some also - LOVE the texture it affords. Do you heat yours from under the image? Your card is super sweet, and I especially like the stitching and kraft CS around it. hugs, de

  5. Kat, me again - which Frantage EPs did you use on your card please? I really want to try some of the chunkier EPs - not her regular EPs. Thank you for sharing! hugs, de

    1. Hi Donna,
      Sorry for my slow reply - I haven't forgotten you! The Frantage EP is by Stampendous and yes, I heated it from underneath for a bit first then from on top. I got a bit impatient initially and didn't heat from below for long enough so it ended up all across my craft room floor when I moved the heat gun to the top!
      Hope you get some soon and can't wait to see how you get on :-)
      Hugs, Kat x

  6. I adore this card. It's everything I love. The colors, the papers, the image, the embellishments. This card is truly wonderful. I just bought Frontage and need to try it...after seeing this card, it makes me want to go home from work and experiment right away.

    Thanks for joining us at the Sweet Stampin' Challenge and hope to see you again next week and the week after and the week after that! --Gail

  7. HI Kat...

    Ooooh welcome to the world of Frantage.... it's a true addiction you know... the chic sparkle it gives just bites you and you have to keep getting more colours... well that's my story!!

    Your card is totally fabulous.. you've put everything together so well, including the layers and sewing (I can never do a straight line!) And your first frantage attempt??? Well just GORGEOUS and you look like a true professional with it!

    Big hugs

  13. OKay, so I already left one message..gotta leave another. I tried the Frantage...absolutely cool effect. Love the way there's bits of gold in the white one. Thanks for showing it off on this card since you introduced me to a new product. I also have to add another reason why I love this card. My bedroom growing up was these shades of pink and green. Always loved that room...too bad we must grow up and our parents turn our old bedroom into a room for a little brother who has to do everything in dinosaurs. :) Hugs, Gail

  15. Excuse my ignorance but I have no idea what Frantage is. Will have to check out the store. I can't believe you have ALL the Copic Sketches... you lucky girl. They are so expensive, with our poor exchange rate. Where do you purchase yours from? Right enough questions... your Ava is too gorgeous. Love the colouring and layering. Big hugs Sharon x
