Rosette tags

Hello lovely people,

Here we go again with a new challenge at Crafty Little Fairies and our theme this month is...

NOT A SQUARE

I have been enjoying making shaped cards recently so that would have been a good option here but I was suddenly inspired to make some tags or maybe they could be used as decorations?!

I made the rosettes by using a punch along a 12" strip of paper and folding by hand at regular intervals.  If you like your rosettes with more folds then you could join 2 pieces of paper together.

I tied a little jingle bell at the top with twine, which made them instantly unacceptable to Dr. Hubby, but I rather like the noise they make!

Tag recipe;
DP: Silent night - Pion Design (available from Live and Love Crafts)
Bells: Silver jingle bells - The Ribbon Girl
Dies: Swirl flower - Marianne Design

We have FIVE prizes up for grabs this month so do pop over to Crafty Little Fairies to see what you could win and check out the fabulous creations from the rest of the fairies.

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Double take

Hello lovely people,

I went to a wedding a couple of weeks ago so of course, I have a wedding card to show you!  Actually, make that TWO wedding cards!
I was preparing the card when my sister-in-law asked if I could make a card for a wedding card she was attending so to make my life easy I did 2 the same but in different colours :-)

I was going for a shabby chic style with distressed and inked edges, and lots of flowers and pearls.  I adore how they came out and to be honest, I couldn't even choose which is my fave colourway!

Here's the one I made for my sister-in-law;

My new flowers came in handy for this as I had lots of lovely new purple/lilac ones to play with :-)  I have scattered a few pearls around them too.

This layered bow has to be my favourite way to finish a card off right now!  And you can see the little cluster of pearls peeking out from the rolled over corner.

I won't bore you with close ups of the other version of the card and will just show you the overview so you can see the different colour scheme.

Card recipe;
DP: Vintage spring basics - Maja Designs (available from Live and Love Crafts)
Seam binding / twine: The Ribbon Girl
Dies: leaf and swirl - Magnolia Doohickey

So, which is your favourite?!

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Challenges I am playing along with;
1.  As You Like It (cute or elegant?  I really like both but I was going for elegant here as it allowed me to use lots of pretty papers and embellishments)
2.  Papertake Weekly (anything goes +/- sparkle)

New baby girl

Hello lovely people,

It's time for a new challenge at In The Pink and our theme this month is...

LUSCIOUS LACE

Although I love lace I don't actually use it all that often on my cards but it is the perfect addition to a new baby card, as are pretty flowers, swirls and a light sprinkling of Frantage.
Much as I love colouring, I also really love these big sentiment stamps from LOTV :-)

It's been a while since I did any arty shots of my cards but thought it might be nice to show the gorgeous flowers a little closer.  I have really become a big fan of these and the roses are my favourites :-)

I have also started adding charms to a few more of my cards and don't you think these teeny baby feet are adorable?!

I also added a simple little tag underneath the sentiment panel.  The letters were stamped and cut out individually; I didn't worry about them being perfect squares as I think it just adds to the shabby chic look!

Card recipe;
DP: Coffee in the arbour - Maja Designs (available from Live and Love Crafts)
Dies: leaf and swirl - Magnolia Doohickey, mini heart collection - Memory box
Charm: feet charm - The Ribbon Girl
Frantage: Stampendous shabby white frantage from Live and Love Crafts

If you haven't already done so then do pop over to In The Pink and check out the gorgeous creations from the rest of the Pink Ladies and from our guest designer :-)

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Krafty Chevrons

Hello lovely people,

It's time for a new challenge at Top Tip Tuesday and our theme this time is...

CHEVRONS

We are sponsored by Sweet Stamp Store with a prize of a $10 gift certificate.

So, chevrons... I like chevrons... but after an extensive search of my craft room I came up with precisely zero chevrons :-(
Then I remembered some Christmas paper I had with chevrons - woot!

Every year I say I will make one or two really simple batches of designs to send to most people on my Christmas card list and just a few fancy ones for family.  So far, I have failed every year.

This may be the year I manage it as here is a super simple design with absolutely no stitching or colouring because those are the things that take me ages!

I was dying to play with my new Christmas stamp sets from LOTV; isn't this the most elegant tree?

Card recipe;
DP: scrap from stash
I hope you will pop over to Top Tip Tuesday and check out the fabulous creations and of course, the top tips from the rest of the team.

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Cute nurse

Hello lovely people,

The good news = my mojo is still in the building...

The also good news = I have been getting a teensy bit ahead with DT cards...

The bad news = I can't share them with you because they are DT cards - doh!

However, I realised I hadn't shared this card I made for a lovely lady in work so here it is;

Yep, she's a nurse and work colleagues requested a nurse image for her card... this was so cute I couldn't resist.  It was my first CC Designs digi and will sadly be my last since they have stopped selling their images as digis :-(  I guess I'll just have to start buying them in rubber then?!

Raise your glass

Hello lovely people,

It's time for a new challenge at In The Pink and our theme this month is...

SPOTS OR STRIPES

I'm usually all about the spots and this card is no exception... I even chose an image with spots on too, on the left hand dress!

Whilst on a little shopping spree at The Ribbon Girl recently I popped a few charms into my basket and I also got one little sparkly star buckle slide.  You can see I have wasted no time in using it... so obviously I am going to need quite a few more as I absolutely adore it!

The image is yet another Stamping Bella image that I treated myself to a few months ago and features 2 of my favourite things... wine and cake!

Star

Hello lovely people,

Ooops, that's another couple of weeks gone by without any blogging from me.  I seem to be in a bit of a 'not very inspired' period, which is not good when I have DT cards and lots of commissions to do :-(

I have managed to do my DT card though for the new challenge at Top Tip Tuesday and our theme this time is...

FAVOURITE COLOUR COMBO

We are sponsored by Kenny K with a prize of 3 digital images for the winner.

I'm sure everyone knows my favourite colour is pink but I don't really have a favourite colour to team it with, it really depends on what works with the image.  So, for this one it's pink and black as it needed something a bit funky!

The image is, of course, a Kenny K one and I am not sure about some of my colour choices... I know I am being pretty picky but I really shouldn't have done the guitar and her outfit the same colour!

Card recipe;
DP: various scraps
Twine / star charm: The Ribbon Girl
Dies: Impression Obsession for the stars
Sentiment: Sentiment sampler - Paper Smooches

Copic colours;
to be added later

I hope you will pop over to Top Tip Tuesday and check out the fabulous creations from the rest of the team and a tutorial on how to make an awesome block card :-)
