A-maze-ing Dad

Hello lovely people,

Happy Friday to you all and today I am sharing a Dies to Die For DT card, which is also the card I made for my Dad for Fathers' Day.

He loves puzzles so this was such a perfect collection to use for his card, although I think he'll find the maze pretty easy to solve - lol!

The stamp set includes a stamp of the maze, but I also got the additional plastic mazes which fit inside the shaker pouches and you can get the cutest teeny metal balls to pop inside the maze!

I added 1mm foam sheet under the star paper layer for dimension and actually cut a circular aperture into the foam and star paper so that the shaker pouch was also slightly recessed into it.

I had so much fun making this and have lots of other ideas for ways to use the stamp set so I think you will be seeing it some more!

Sunny flower fairy

Hello lovely people,

We have a new 'Use any image' challenge starting over on The Ribbon Girl blog, so you can enter with any type of project as long as you include an image.
There are loads of fab prizes up for grabs too :-)

I have, of course, popped a few gorgeous goodies from The Ribbon Girl on here and you can find all the product links at the end of this post.

This card seems really appropriate for the beautiful sunny weather we are having in the UK right now!

I cannot tell you the last time I used a Tiddly Inks image and I sooooo enjoyed colouring this cute fairy; I knew she would look lovely in sunny colours :-)

I've used a pretty flower border but only wanted a little bit showing for detail, and then I added foliage with a new leafy die cut into small sections; this will be another well-used die I think!

You are Mermazing!

Hello lovely people,

As this posts, I will be heading home from a week in Cornwall (near Penzance)  and the weather has been mostly good with quite a bit of sunshine so we did lots of walking and sightseeing.

Oh, and ate a cream tea almost every day...of course!

Today I have a Dies to Die For DT card for you and before I left for holibobs I just had to squeeze in a little play with my mermaid stamps from MFT.  These are from the May release and I already have my June release goodies on the way - lol!

I've also used several elements from one of the MFT Blueprints set.

Mermaids are perfect for trying out different hair colours and I also LOVE colouring their tails to give a scaly look :-)

I cut out the mermaid and rock with the matching dies and layered them together for my scene; maybe next time I'll also try colouring the background but I do like the quirky look of the DP.

The frame was created by using 2 separate stitched circle dies and then I stacked 3 frames together for depth.

I have always admired the scattered sequins on other people's cards but never really felt like I could use them effectively on my own...until now!

I was really happy with the sequins on here and it didn't even take me long to place these; it does help to have REALLY pretty sequins - lol!

Bike ride with bunny

Hello lovely people,

Today I have a card using a very select few goodies from The Ribbon Girl.

I totally intended to add some clusters of flowers but once I had the letters in place, it just looked a little busy, and I was more than a little bit happy not to cover those GORGEOUS papers!

As you can see, this was a personalised card, which was a commission for a work colleague.  I was delighted when she picked out this image for the card because this pair are utterly charming and I knew they would be so fun to colour :-)

As I said, I didn't add much in the way of embellishment but the ribbon is really pretty with a lovely texture and matches the papers perfectly.

I can highly recommend the self-adhesive pearls as well; they are fab!

Vintage style stitched flowers

Hello lovely people,

I have a Dies to Die For DT card for you today and I am revisiting the pretty stitched floral dies that I used last week, but this time in a vintage style.

This is just a dinky little card at 10cm square, and isn't it always useful to have a few thank you cards on standby?!

I do think it's fun to see how the same product looks in different styles.  I would have said that my preferred style was vintage but actually I think I am leaning more towards a cleaner, more modern style these days...but it's nice to do both!

The frame and word are 2 layers of card glued together as it gives a nicer dimension to them.
