Snow globe tags...and not tags!

Hello lovely people,

If you're not into Christmas stuff just yet then look away now!

For my Dies to Die For DT project this week I have been playing with a super cute snow globe tag.

I inked a piece of card before using the die with holes in to make the inner piece, then cut the piece behind it from sparkly card.

I grabbed this cute little Santa who was left over from last year to add on top of my tag, added a sentiment, which is from the Santa stamp set, and a couple of sparkly stars to finish.

But of course you can use the snow globe on cards as well as for tags...

I cut off the hanging loop at the top because I wanted my snow globe to be free standing.

I've used a section from one of the 6x6 papers for the image in my snow globe...brilliant if you want a quick design without colouring :-)

If I've tempted you with any of the lovely supplies I've used then you can go straight to the individual products via the links below or just pop over to Dies to Die For and have a little browse around!

Thanks for popping in and I hope you have a great day!

Big birthday balloon

Hello lovely people,

I've been doing a little die cutting for my Dies to Die For DT card this week, using one of the recent MFT sentiment dies, which I teamed up with a balloon edge die from a blueprints set.  This particular blueprint set is currently out of stock, but you could also cut the balloon shape by hand, or use a circle die and add the little piece at the bottom.

I die cut the balloon shape from purple stripy card, then taped the words in place where I wanted them before die cutting them.  I removed the letters but made sure to keep all the little bits from the centres of letters like the B.  I added some twine before attaching the balloon piece to a square of white card so I would have a backing to attach the letters to.  I die cut the words again from silver glitter card and inlaid them in the spaces, popping the purple centres back in where necessary.

Once again, I've made this design in a few different colours...with girl and boy options!

Shake it!

Hello lovely people,

I'm popping in with my Dies to Die For DT card...and it seems to be cocktail o'clock!

I used a stitched rectangle die to create the patterned paper layer and also to create the white square layer by die cutting the 2 ends of the square; you don't need the bit in the middle as it's covered!

If you love shaker cards but hate the faff (YEP!) then these MFT dies with co-ordinating shaker pouches are a must-have!

I've used some pretty sequins and beads in the shaker pouch along with the tiny frosty ice cubes...they are so cute!

Is anyone else feeling thirsty now?!

Big wreath, little wreath...

Hello lovely people,

It's Friday which means that my week of holibobs is almost over and also that it's time for me to share my Dies to Die For DT card...actually it's TWO cards today!

Every year I say I really don't need any new Christmas stuff but every year I am tempted into buying new stash, and my resolve was totally broken this year by the gorgeous Lawn Fawn release.

So, I have a few new bits to play with and started with the super cute mini wreath, and since I don't have a die cut door, I made my own with a stitched rectangle aperture die and score board :-)

This little die cuts the leaves all in one piece, and you could layer several of these up if you wanted a fuller wreath.  The bow is sooooo cute and the teeny berries are sweet...but a little fiddly to place!

I also got the larger wreath and have used the new Knit Picky papers for this card.

This wreath is a 'build it yourself' one and of course, that means the foliage will be useful all year round.  I cut some of the foliage to shorter lengths to add variation to the wreath.

I can see myself using that bow die a lot too, not just for Christmas, and it comes with another die option for the tails where they are in line with the loops of the bow.

Just floating along

Hello lovely people,

Hurrah, it's Friday!!

I have a Dies to Die For DT card to share with you today and I made a start on using my rather large pile of new Stamping Bellas!

I know the weather isn't too sure, but it IS Summer so I've gone all Summery with this one...

I've created a little scene in the aperture and since I don't have any wave border dies (yet!) I decided that hillside borders would do the job instead!

I die cut the clouds from plain white card and added a touch of colour with Copics.

Oooooh, wouldn't you just love to be chilling out like this right now?!

The sentiment is cut out with another of those super useful little MFT Blueprints elements, and I reckon it's one we can all agree with, right?!

Wedding squidgies

Hello lovely people,

I'm enjoying a few days off work and trying to squeeze in as much crafting as I can, but I guess I have to do some chores too - lol!

Today I have a Dies to Die For DT card to share with you.

Wedding card featuring Love Story Squidgies by Stamping Bella

I coloured this image whilst on holiday in Cornwall in June so thought it was about time it made it onto a card.  I added pink details to the image because I knew I wouldn't have a hard time finding some pink papers in my stash to use with it - lol!

The little tab with the sentiment on is a strip die from a Blueprints set; I always seem to find useful little bits and pieces in these.

The paper pad is probably quite an old one but a new one to me; I have quite a stash of lovely paper pads I picked up at one of the Dies to Die For pop up shops :-)

I also have a fairly sizeable pile of new Stamping Bella gorgeousness ready to play with though so can't wait to get stuck into those!

Lovely lilac

Hello lovely people,

Last week I enjoyed a day of drinking tea/coffee, chatting and colouring with my buddies Sue and Debs :-)

There was more of the first 2 and less of the 3rd to be honest (lol!) but I did get this little lady coloured up and thought I'd share her for my Dies to Die For DT card this week.

I didn't originally buy many of the garden girls but I have recently been falling in love with them so had to expand my collection.  This lilac girl is going to be a favourite, I can tell, because I really love colouring all the teeny flowers!

I don't use my purple Copics very often but it was the classic choice for this image and I also added Nuvo drops to the centres of some of the larger flowers.

You are Mermazing!

Hello lovely people,

As this posts, I will be heading home from a week in Cornwall (near Penzance)  and the weather has been mostly good with quite a bit of sunshine so we did lots of walking and sightseeing.

Oh, and ate a cream tea almost every day...of course!

Today I have a Dies to Die For DT card for you and before I left for holibobs I just had to squeeze in a little play with my mermaid stamps from MFT.  These are from the May release and I already have my June release goodies on the way - lol!

I've also used several elements from one of the MFT Blueprints set.

Mermaids are perfect for trying out different hair colours and I also LOVE colouring their tails to give a scaly look :-)

I cut out the mermaid and rock with the matching dies and layered them together for my scene; maybe next time I'll also try colouring the background but I do like the quirky look of the DP.

The frame was created by using 2 separate stitched circle dies and then I stacked 3 frames together for depth.

I have always admired the scattered sequins on other people's cards but never really felt like I could use them effectively on my own...until now!

I was really happy with the sequins on here and it didn't even take me long to place these; it does help to have REALLY pretty sequins - lol!

Vintage style stitched flowers

Hello lovely people,

I have a Dies to Die For DT card for you today and I am revisiting the pretty stitched floral dies that I used last week, but this time in a vintage style.

This is just a dinky little card at 10cm square, and isn't it always useful to have a few thank you cards on standby?!

Vintage floral thank you card

I do think it's fun to see how the same product looks in different styles.  I would have said that my preferred style was vintage but actually I think I am leaning more towards a cleaner, more modern style these days...but it's nice to do both!

The frame and word are 2 layers of card glued together as it gives a nicer dimension to them.
