Bear-thday surprise!

Hello lovely people,

Happy Friday everyone and I'm here with my Dies to Die For DT card.

I decided it was time to try a twist and pop card.  I love paper engineering and fancy fold designs so I checked out a few templates and tutorials and then made my own version.

I kept the front fairly plain as the inside is hopefully going to add the wow factor!  I did get to use my fab new label sentiment strip die though ;-)

I made my version with square panels in the centre (because I just prefer to design on squares!) and I've decorated them with birthday themed bits and pieces.

Here's a closer shot of the centre panels;

Now, cute bears and cake was always going to be a winning combination for me so I just had to add these little MFT bears to my collection!

Here's the other little cutie...I think he may have had too much cake - lol!

Garden Girl Carnation

Hello lovely people,

It's Friday so it must be time for me to share my latest Dies to Die For DT card!

Today's temptation comes in the shape of one of the new Stamping Bella images.  I treated myself to a few, having spent ages whittling down my wish list to a size that my credit card could handle!

This is my first purchase of one of the gorgeous little garden girls and although I was tempted to use pink, I decided to go with red.

I know red markers can be a bit 'bleedy' but I love colouring in red, although I had to do this image in several sittings to stop me going cross eyed concentrating on all the teeny petal details!

I also coloured this before picking papers which is not like me at all, but I found some lovely bold papers to match and decided on a clean layered design...but with LOTS of stitching!

Card-io silhouette blooms

Hello lovely people,

I am swinging by with a really quick post today to share a card I made using Card-io stamps.

It's a bit different for me, yes?!

I played around for absolutely ages and this one card is all I came up with, but hey, I had fun!

It's hard to see in the photo but I have smudged a little lilac ink upwards from the bottom of the stamped panel and added tiny dots of Crystal Nuvo drops randomly all over the image.

Lots of roses

Hello lovely people,

I hope you are all enjoying a lovely Easter weekend, maybe with a little chocolate treat from the Easter bunny?!

We have a new 'Use any image' challenge starting over on The Ribbon Girl blog, so you can enter with any type of project as long as you include an image.
There are loads of fab prizes up for grabs too :-)

I've used the recently re-launched House of Roses paper pad from Lemoncraft and it is even better this time round as you get more different designs and the tone is much pinker, which of course I love!

It seems like ages since I used a Magnolia image and it seemed appropriate given that the papers are House of Roses to use a Tilda with a big rose!

I have coloured her with Inktense watercolour pencils.

Just in case the papers and image weren't quite enough, I added paper roses too!

I was going to add some little fishtails in the top left corner but decided to leave it plain for now so I could add a name instead if I wish.

Jump!

Hello lovely people,

I have a Dies to Die For DT card for you today and after watching my lovely teamie Sue making a cute slider card I just had to give it a go, so here is my very first slider card!

I used a specific circle slider die to cut the channel, but only die cut the top part of it so that the little sheep can jump over the fence...I'm so delighted with how well this idea turned out!

I glued the sheep directly onto a little plastic Spin & Slide disc from MFT and I attached a penny on the other side because the weight of it makes him slide easily.

I can't find a link to the Spin & Slide discs at the moment so I'll add that later if I find it, but they are definitely worth getting hold of because they do make sure the sheep (or whatever you are using) actually slides smoothly and doesn't catch on the edges of the channel.

If you would like to see the sheep in action then check out the video I put up on my Instagram here...I could have made him slide around all day because it's so much fun!
