Sweet dreams Edna

Hello lovely people,

Wow, that's another weekend that whizzed by!

We had a friend of Dr. Hubby's visiting and I thought I might get some crafting done while they did 'boy' things and I did a little bit, but I also got sucked into joining them for multiplayer games on the PlayStation 4 quite a lot instead, which was loads of fun :-)

The Ribbon Girl DT are taking a little break from challenges over the Summer but there's a lovely giveaway over on The Ribbon Girl blog at the moment, with this selection of beautiful blue goodies...

Completely coincidentally, I have chosen blue for the card I am sharing today, using some lovely products from The Ribbon Girl of course!

I was especially excited to use my new Denim & Friends paper pad from Maja Design...oooooh, this pad is so packed full of gorgeous patterns and colours :-)

I seem to be having a bit of a love affair with Stamping Bella images at the moment, whether brand new images or slightly older ones like this one.

I hope Edna is having sweet dreams...she does look like it to me :-)

I die cut 4 separate borders to create the frame effect around the image and broke out the Frantage to add to the vintage feel....shhhhh, the Frantage *may* also be covering a few unwanted spots of Copic ink from when I opened a particularly juicy pen right over the image...but you didn't hear it from me, right?!

If you find yourself tempted by any of the pretty supplies I've used then you can go straight to the individual products via the thumbnails at the end of my post or just pop over to The Ribbon Girl and have a little browse around!

Just floating along

Hello lovely people,

Hurrah, it's Friday!!

I have a Dies to Die For DT card to share with you today and I made a start on using my rather large pile of new Stamping Bellas!

I know the weather isn't too sure, but it IS Summer so I've gone all Summery with this one...

Colourful Summer card featuring Frances loves to float rubber stamp by Stamping Bella

I've created a little scene in the aperture and since I don't have any wave border dies (yet!) I decided that hillside borders would do the job instead!

I die cut the clouds from plain white card and added a touch of colour with Copics.

Oooooh, wouldn't you just love to be chilling out like this right now?!

The sentiment is cut out with another of those super useful little MFT Blueprints elements, and I reckon it's one we can all agree with, right?!

Coffee for Dad

Hello lovely people,

I seem to have been very busy crafting lately as I have a few projects lined up to show you, and today's card is the one I made for my Dad's birthday.

Coffee cup birthday card using MFT coffee cup die

He and I share a love of coffee and since I had just 'acquired' this fab MFT coffee cup die, it seemed it would be rude not to use it!

I thought it would look cute tucked into my new Happy Birthday circle die...and then I realised the lettering exactly matches the lettering in the stitched banner alphabet - perfect!

Coffee cup birthday card using MFT coffee cup die

I used some bean stamps to add detail to the corners of the base layer of DP, and a little coffee steam swirl.  I wanted to use a darker ink than I usually would to ink the edges and stamp the beans so really, I had to use Ground Espresso didn't I?!

Cosy penguin

Hello lovely people,

I'm still all about the brand new LOTV Christmas release, and today I have the final one in my trio of cards using matching papers and detailing.

These gorgeous images are selling like hot cakes and some are already out of stock but can be pre-ordered for when more stock comes in.

Even better, the introductory offers on multibuys of the new stamps (rubber or digi) and Simply Print sheets have been extended until midday on Sunday 30th July so if you haven't already got your hands on them... again, just saying ;-P

I felt like I had a teeny bit more white space around this image than I wanted so I added some little snowflakes with pearl centres.

I got these snowflake dies last year and I just know they are going to be the first ones I reach for to embellish my Christmas cards for many many years as they are just soooo pretty :-)

This is my last LOTV Christmas card for now...but all the other images are so gorgeous that I need to find some time to play with more of them!

Wedding squidgies

Hello lovely people,

I'm enjoying a few days off work and trying to squeeze in as much crafting as I can, but I guess I have to do some chores too - lol!

Today I have a Dies to Die For DT card to share with you.

Wedding card featuring Love Story Squidgies by Stamping Bella

I coloured this image whilst on holiday in Cornwall in June so thought it was about time it made it onto a card.  I added pink details to the image because I knew I wouldn't have a hard time finding some pink papers in my stash to use with it - lol!

The little tab with the sentiment on is a strip die from a Blueprints set; I always seem to find useful little bits and pieces in these.

The paper pad is probably quite an old one but a new one to me; I have quite a stash of lovely paper pads I picked up at one of the Dies to Die For pop up shops :-)

I also have a fairly sizeable pile of new Stamping Bella gorgeousness ready to play with though so can't wait to get stuck into those!

A gift for you

Hello lovely people,

It's the most wonderful time of the year...oh yes, I'm talking Christmas!

I am not known for starting my Christmas cards this early in the year but it is time for the first of the LOTV Christmas releases (on Monday 24th...put in it your diary!) so I have been making DT cards to share some of the gorgeous new images with you.

Here's the first one...

Christmas card using 'A little gift' by Lili of the Valley

I love this sweet little girl and her penguin friend, and of course, I couldn't resist adding a little sparkle and some pearls for that essential Christmas bling!

I do love this colour combo for Christmas cards as it feels so bold and fresh...and my red and aqua Copics are some of my faves to colour with :-)

I'll warn you now that I was on a bit of a roll when I made this card, so I have two more coming up with other images, using the same colours!

What's up?

Hello lovely people,

Happy Friday and roll on the weekend, when I will be spending time with some family including two of my lovely nephews so I am really looking forward to that.

But first...I have a Dies to Die For DT card for you and it's hopefully an 'uplifting' one for a Friday - lol!

TGF were one of my fave brands when I first got into stamping and I realised I haven't really used a lot of them recently so I 'acquired' a super cute set to play with.

Cute colourful card using Mega mini lift off stamp set from The Greeting Farm

I decided to paper piece the balloon, partly because colouring balloons scares me and partly because I think it looks so good..and then I thought she could have a dress to match because every girl likes to co-ordinate right?!

The dress paper is from the Cool Summer pad and the background papers are from the other pads as listed below.

I used my new MFT stencil for the clouds but I really must get myself some DIs for shading because at the moment I can only do the clouds with Copics and although I think they look ok, I think DIs would be better.

Sweetie on Kraft

Hello lovely people,

I am so thrilled and honoured to have been designing for Papercraft inspirations magazine every month throughout 2017 but I never seem to get round to sharing my projects, so I thought it was about time I did!

In the June issue I did a Masterclass on colouring on Kraft and it was a special treat to see this as the main cover card too :-)

This little fairy has always been a favourite of mine and I enjoyed the challenge of colouring her on Kraft instead of white card.

This was a very 'me' style of card too, with the shabby chic finish and pretty flowers.  Lots of the goodies on here came from The Ribbon Girl and you can find all the links at the end of my post.
